So, this is the featured entry in Shakespeare’s language of the Week. Like this: The Entry In English Of The Week. Most of the people who use internet on a daily basis are already familiar with English, so I assume there would be no harm if I write in this language from time to time in my journal. Besides, it’s not like a LOT of people ever came to read my journal; while my blog was hosted in PITAS, I received about 20 visits a day, but most of my visitors arrived at my page through searches (so I was glad because that proved me my blog was sort of useful in a way and not only The Corner Of My Rants). But LJ.com’s directories aren’t included in searches engines, and I have no way to make an account of how many people actually came here, so I’ll be assuming it’s one or two people, aside from myself and my friend Kelly, of course. Nah.
On Monday morning I went to bed at 5 am and my dear mother woke up (a few hours later) with the classical (if you play D&D) method of Kick-in-the-door, and just in the same fluid and graceful movement, she proceeded to kick me out of the house. And so? Well, I realized something new today at the university. I used to be the one student who was on time for the German Literature Translation course (or Translation Course of German Literary Works if you want to put it in Christian words, but that’s way too long to type it each time I mention the course). Now I’m the one person who arrives on time for the class. I was at the classroom’s door at 1:00 o’clock, the teacher arrived at 1:15 (put her case and books on the desk and went to, don’t know, have something to eat?), some other students at 1:30, the rest of the humanity at 2:00. And I’d like to clarify that I don’t do it in the name of studies, German Literature or my teacher – nah, just look at the things I must do to be on my teacher’s highest regards (or else, if I fail the course I’ll be seeing her for another semester and that’s a NO).
So, how wonderful is my week being so far? (Don’t mention the week began today; if you’re an English speaker, then it began on Sunday, but let’s assume I’m referring to the last 7 days).
The cable network of local telephone lines was stolen TWICE in the past two weeks. Right now, the service of public electrical lights (how is it called in English? Must look up for it) isn’t working and if Internet goes out again – at least I’m updating right now. Christmas is in two months time but it seems some people is already working hard for the season.
…In the last update I wrote in my former blog I told how I got a debit card. Ok, now it’s time to tell about how I’m trying to get a domain in the net.
The domain is intended for RavenTears’ birthday (it’s on November 6th). So just guess who gained the right to choose the name – yeah, and it’s the most creative and spectacular name ever researched/thought/reflected blah blah blah… Anyway, as I don’t have enough money to buy the domain as for yet (I might be able to get the whole amount of it by this week’s end), I decided to registered the domain’s name for the time being. Ok, as it was such a hassle to register the name with one host and the actual domain with another, I just decided to make the registration with the same server that’ll be my host. I filled in the forms and was about to send them when – Internet began to malfunction. It was no wonder; this happened right after the telephone lines were replaced. Anyway, I preferred not to insist on the registration until Internet was working properly again…
And then a week passed because I tried to convience RavenTears of choosing another name for the domain. That’s because the three of us are going to use it, and I was looking forward to a more… Er, I mean, a less freaky name for my first own webspace. Last night I accessed the site of this host to check on my status, and I found it read I HAD registered the domain’s name, but my payment was still in the queue. So I wrote a message to the staff requesting information about my status.
What happened then? I received two emails today. The first message was the receipt for the domain registration BUT, I wasn’t being charged anything, and no money has been charged from my debit card either. So what was the receipt for? I checked out the site again and this time it read, domain registered, though the next page displayed in my control panel read, domain registration error. I checked the second mail. It was a reply by one of the members of the staff, and he explained to me that for some reason the site hadn’t processed my registration. Odd, as for all registration are automatic, he said.
Yes, automatization made my day. I assume the error in the site was originated because my internet conection wasn’t working properly at the time I made the registration; and then, just as the site is automatized, the database began processing wrong information. It says I registered the domain but as I haven’t charged as for yet, I haven’t made any payment and so I haven’t actually registered that domain. In other words, I have and I don’t have the domain. Well, the site understands itself. I don’t.
So, in the meantime, I’m looking for a web template for my still nonexistant site. I suck at web design; thirty-five designs of my former blog are proof to my words. Thus, instead of making my likely visitors with my poor designs, I decided I’d be using linkware layouts. My problem is, I want it to be an iframe layout but I can’t find a design to my tastes… I found two nice designs, though, that’d be even nicer if they weren’t:
1. So small. My site will be text-centered, as you can imagine from my blog.
2. Pink. Any color, please, but pink!
I was thinking of making my own design but – NAH! Since I have an archive of almost 400 linkware layouts taken from the net (obviously), I began browsing through it and came out with two possible designs… One of them features Totoro from Ghibli’s movie Tonari No Totoro, but the navigation bar is so small…
Blah blah blah. First the domain, then the design.
And in other freaky issues…
I like icons. Those little 100×100 images… How do people make them? I can’t even come up with a decent 800×600 layout. Anyway, I realized some of my fave icons were Bleach themed, despite the fact that I’ve never mentioned in my blog that I read, watched, and like this title. My thanks to Jimmy Suzuki for getting me interested in the series, back when it was in the first 5 mangas or so (now it’s over 20 volumes and so damn popular). I like the story because of its references to Japanese culture (about shinigamis and beliefs in the Afterworld), its sense of humor, Kubotite’s art… The only character I disliked was Rukia, but after the long Soul Society arc, I’m at peace with her. My only complaint about the storyline is that the mangaka includes too much information and characters that aren’t properly developed afterwards… I’d prefer for the storyline to be centered in an arc at a time.

He was invisible to me in his nerdy, good-natured facade. Nah. It was after chapter 178 that I came to rest my eyes on him. I need more of his bastardly presence in Bleach…
So in the end this entry was a half-rant about the domain I both have and don’t have, and the proclamation of my love for a certain manga and a most particular character of such title.
You know, I need to do a little research or find an interesting topic to write about in this blog or else…
Hot damn, but does that Sousuke look good. Why are the bastards so appealing, I wonder? XD I’ll comment more on this later! :D

Woa, Kelly, now I’m liking your icon… I like rice crackers… But they’re so expensive to buy, go figure it.
…So I think we can write an essay about the appeal of sexy bastards, can’t we? You’ve just given me an idea for a future update (which most surely will show the “freakism” tag). Let me think about it and I’ll write it later.
And yeah, as you can see, I think I still have a connection to internet… Though I’m posting this from the university.
And in an update to my half-rant about not being able to register that domain, well, I just received a notification informing me of the success of the registration, but methinks I must buy the webspace RIGHT NOW and the name alone isn’t useful at all. I’ve asked a friend of mine for infomation on this… Anyway, I hope the domain to be up and working before November 6th, RavenTears’ birthday. Nah…

But it was a really interesting topic! I should say VERY interesting. When I studied in Spain everything was this way: I came on time… then other students came 5 minutes later… and in 10 minutes came a teacher saying “Hola” con sonrisa más amable and we started our lessons at 8:20 instead of 8:00… In Russia, if teacher is not at the door of the lecture room at least fifteen minutes after the official beginning of the lesson, the students disappear instantly… So if he comes at 10:16 and the lesson was to start at 10:00, he WILL NOT SEE ANY SOUL :)

…Then maybe it should be sort of a consolation to know that unpunctuality isn’t an exclusive trait of Peruvians.
In my university there is this supposed rule: students are allowed to be up to 15 minutes later for classes, and teachers, 20. If a teacher is more than 20 minutes later, then the students are free to go – and this regulation was taken almost literally, because most of my students showed exactly 19 minutes later. Wow, now that was punctuality.
And there were teachers that never showed up on time. They weren’t worried about their classes, students or even careers, as they held other positions in the university and thus, weren’t subjected to be fired for neglecting their duties. In one of my classes, for instance, some of my classmates grew tired of the teacher’s irresponsibility and went to look for him, took him out of his office or wherever he was, and brought him to the classroom.

Ha-ha-ha!!!
LOL
Great! In my University when a teacher is not at the door of the classroom (let’s imagine it is on the 8th floor)… The students choose a volunteer who goes the first and the others follow him slowly, going downstairs… so if the teacher doen’t choose the lift (elevator) to reach the classroom and catch our “volunteer”, the others rush back and hide somewhere to wait for the teacher to pass by…
(please, if there is any mistake, correct it… I’m starting to forget the Shakespear’s language)

Thanks! I like rice crackers too! And I love your entire layout, you’re so artistic!!
Ooh! An essay that’ll show the “freakism” tag, which essay is that? Tell me more! :D
And how was Raventears’ birthday? Hope it was a good one!!
Oh and about making the 100×100 icons, it’s all about shrinking your image to the right size! There’s plenty of tutorials on making icons, but I can’t follow those directions since I don’t have photoshop, bah!
And seriously, that picture you posted of Souske shows he is one hot sexy bastard. And he’s so nonchalant about everything too, by his looks, heh heh. You truly indeed have great taste, Cris!

Hello, Kelly! Nice to see you again! Sorry, I got carried away and forgot to tend to my journal (particularly my English entries)…
I got that domain working, though it lacks content because RavenTears can’t take care of it yet. I have 2 sites working in the domain but RT has to move about 10 fanlistings, two character shrines, a blog, er… I’ve been working on the site for the past four or so days and thus, I neglected my journal for the time being…
And sorry! I haven’t even begun working in that What Sexy Bastards Are The Best yet! Man, my dreadful sense of responsibility working again… I found out I was a complete Bleach freak so I was working in my first site about the series, a shrine to Ichigo Kurosaki (he’s the main character of Bleach). But this series is so full of other sexy bastards *drool*… Argh, I need to work on that essay!
…I’d like to make my own icons, but… I can barely work on my 800×600 layouts. Well, I’ll try to follow your suggestion about just shrinking the images – though all image editors I have really suck at that. I’ve got Photoshop 6.0 and 8.0, but have no frigging idea how to use them. I only know how to make blendings… I use Photoimpact 6.0 and MS Paint! < = It's pretty useful to use icon templates. Besides, I have no sense of designing, *sob*...
Oh, yeah! Sousuke Aizen is one sexy bastard! In fact, he’s THE bastard of Bleach, though there are other men in this series that I like better. But, you know, anime bastards have their edge…
[Cmnt]
(Argh, I forgot to post this: when my friend Brenda read this entry and saw that Aizen little collage of images, she said, “I was almost blinded by such sexiness!” I prefer referring to him as “Aizen” instead of using his first name because something funny about his name is that’s written with the kanji of love, “ai”. Er… Don’t know whether that suits him or not…)
[Cmnt]
Yup, so we reach a consensus then, Brenda, you, me — we all agree that Aizen’s a hottie, heh heh. So his name has the word “ai” in it, huh? Makes you wonder… Even though he’s a bastard, he still might have the capacity to love, eh? Eh? Haha!
[Cmnt]
Your English is really good! Sure, there’s some errors, but none that we native speaker’s don’t make anyway! I have to say I’m really impressed with how organized you guys are for getting out of class, haha. ^_^ And yeah, over here in Hawaii, we also have the 15 time limit. Once those minutes have passed with no teacher, us students are out of there!
