[Cmnt]
This is so awesome… I’m so happy to have found all of this beautiful doujinshi! Thank you very much!
[Cmnt]
[Cmnt]
I;m sorry, but I’m having trouble downloading both Game Over and Kagome, Kagome no saki ni….
Is the link broken or the server of the web kinda down?
:-/
Anyway, thank you for sharing!
XD
[Cmnt]
I just tried downloading the files and they seem to be working just fine. Maybe it was just my server when you first tried…? Please, try again and if you still have problems downloading them, let me know and I’ll replace the files.
…And thanks for your comment. You’re welcome!
[Cmnt]
thank you for sharing!!!!!!!!
[Cmnt]
You’re welcome!
[Cmnt]
Thanks for sharing these~
Will it be all right if I scanlated some of the titles here?
I’ll credit you, of course. X3
[Cmnt]
You’re welcome!
Feel free to use my scans for scanlations. I’m always happy to be able to contribute with the fandom. Also, you can always contact me if you need higher resolution or the original RAW scans.
[Cmnt]
Oh DIOS MIO!!!!!!!!
saludos
[Cmnt]
I’m not sure how I found this site, but I’m so glad I did. xD
It’s really hard for me to find any BASARA doujinshi to download, because my computer only does ZIP files. These are good quality, too. Thanks a lot for uploading! You have a huge collection.
[Cmnt]
You’re welcome. I really enjoy sharing my DJ collection – mostly because I can get comments such as yours :)
On a sidenote… haven’t you tried installing or/and upgrading your Winzip version? I have Winzip 11.1 and it can open .rar files as well.
[Cmnt]
Thank you so much
) >O< )
[Cmnt]
You have no idea how much I love you for these xD And for the drama CDs. Thank you so, so, soooo much! ^^
[Cmnt]
You’re welcome! Thank you very much for all the love :)
[Cmnt]
thank you so very much xD i’m really grateful~~
you’re so kind, these scans are hard to find anywhere and they’re HQ too xDD
I’m so happy that i find this site <3
I'll be one of your eternal lurker xDD
[Cmnt]
Thanks for your comment! I’m glad you think my scans are HQ. I know I still have lots to improve when it comes to scanning and editing.
[Cmnt]
Love your dou :”> Do you have Senbasa 1 volume 1 and 2 ‘ ‘~ share me plz
[Cmnt]
Sorry, but I’m a bit confused about what you’re looking for. What do you mean for “Senbasa”? Is it the original manga, the artbooks, the fanbooks, or maybe a doujinshi title?
Just in case, I have some fanbook scans at this other entry.
[Cmnt]
oh, sorry this mean sengoku basara :”>, I use this like short name sorry then
[Cmnt]
No need to apologize; I know “Senbasa” stands for “Sengoku Basara”. I myself use that portmanteau. I meant there were so many materials (doujinshi, mangas, CD dramas, fanboos, artbooks and so forth) that have “Sengoku Basara” in their titles, I didn’t know which one you were referring to. Feel free to ask for a particular title: I might have it or, in any case, I might know where you can find it. The exception would be doujinshis, since I pretty much have only what you’re seeing in this entry.
[Cmnt]
Oh ye, that is right, the one I looking for now is manga XD~ Ranse Ranbu manga, also Senbasa 2 (if you have)
I love your scan, really love, Love you too XD~~ kyaaaaaaaaaa
[Cmnt]
No prob :) I do have Ranse Ranbu scans, but those are from a Chinese scanlation (with two pages scanned per single file). I assume it’s so hard to find RR RAW scans because the manga was licensed by an American publisher some time ago (and the scanlation group which was working in the project dropped it afterward). Anyway, if you’re interested, here are volume 1, volume 2 and volume 3 of RR.
I’m currently uploading what I have of the Sengoku BASARA 2 manga by Yaku Haibara (the first volume has been scanlated so far; the rest is in RAW), so please check back some time later :)
[Cmnt]
Ye, I definitely will
Thank you so much
*big hug*
[Cmnt]
You’re welcome. And thanks for your kind comments!
I finished uploading all 4 volumes of Sengoku BASARA 2 by Yaku Haibara. Currently only the first volume has been completely scanlated into English I think; the rest is in the original Japanese: Vol. 1, Vol. 2,
Vol. 3 and
Vol. 4. I also found RAW scans for Ranse Ranbu so I updated the links in one of my previous comment.
Let me know if there’s any problem with the links or the files.
[Cmnt]
Thank you so much!! all file is awesome XD~ by the way I download 2 chapter 1 Basara III and I found another ver of Basara 3 in Gangan ‘ ‘ The Draw is very alike Amatsuki. Still Finding~~
[Cmnt]
You’re welcome!
Now that you mention it, I think I did see that other version of SB3 in the Gangan magazine… but promptly forgot about it. I guess it won’t hurt if I go search for it again…
[Cmnt]
[Cmnt]
oh~I also ask my friend in Singapore to buy it~ If I have early than you I would share~ Anyway do you have a picture of that Cm about SB3?
[Cmnt]
Sorry for the delayed reply. I also reposted your comment in a new thread for easy reading; sorry about the nested comments: they become unreadable after a few replies have been written, so I’m trying to fix that.
Anyway, thanks for your offer to share the SB3 manga. Any and all contribution to the fandom is welcomed, I’m sure of that (and I’m also so looking forward to seeing Mitsunari). By the way, I was checking some magazine scans (but I can’t remember which magazine, sorry!) and I think I saw an ad for yet another version of SB3, this time in one of Shueisha’s publications. I’ll go hunt for it as well.
…And I’m sorry for this as well, but I think you’re asking about the scans of the SB3 manga? Both versions, in any case :) I did download them – and I suppose I then deleted then, because I can’t find them in my hard drive again! But I remember seeing better scans of at least one of the manga versions, so I’ll see if I find them. I’ll let you know if I do. Sorry for being this dense and forget about, well, everything, though.
[Cmnt]
AH~ non, I already have 2 chapter of SB3 one Eng, one Raw :”>
I just wanna ask about The picture present by Gangan to find it :D
[Cmnt]
No, sorry, I’m afraid I don’t have the magazine covers. I don’t think I’ve seen them, in fact; the RAW files I came across included only the manga scans and not the cover, if I remember correctly.
And not exactly related, but I updated this other page (my “official SB works page” of sorts) with scans of a fanbook I was missing, if you’re interested.
[Cmnt]
Oh~ I see, thank you to let me know that :)) But why you don’t Upload doujinshi anymore?
:(
[Cmnt]
Ha ha, you got me! Sorry for not updating this page in so long. I got into another hobby (ball-jointed dolls) and that’s monopolizing all my funds for the time being… I still buy DJs, but very sporadically now.
…Right now, though, I do have three SB DJs I haven’t edited yet. I’m supposedly editing and uploading them since I bought them, uh, roughly a couple of months ago. I’m sooooo lazy, I used to have an announcement in this very page telling people it was ok to remind me (by mail, comment, PM, as they preferred) to get to work already! Anyway, since I’m finally done with the fanbook (scanning the color pages felt like forever), I’ll try to get those DJ done. That said as well, feel free to remind me to upload them if I take long… too long… or just if it looks like I’m procrastinating again :)
[Cmnt]
Hahahaha~me too, Do you need Help :)) I’m free all day :)) (At leat now) :))
A by the way, can you buy Senbasa doujinshi of PropellerShiki or Bengal?
I alway try but never can :))
[Cmnt]
Well, I should really get those DJs done since I do have lots of free time now. Must… fight back… laziness… but it seems that’s a losing battle for me.
I was recommended PropellerShiki’s works but didn’t like them… Maybe because, and in spite of what my DJ collection might tell you, I’m not a big MasaYuki fan – and Someya Rui’s portrayal of the pairing was sort of lacking for me. Bengal, on the other hand, it’s the only artist/circle that compels me to buy their works on the spot :) Like I said, I’m not big on MasaYuki but as things turn out, I love the way this circle renders the pairing: lots of comedy, some seriousness, nice art, and the smut needed to keep every yaoi fan interested. Two of the three DJs I should really be editing *ahem* are by this circle, actually (one is a rather gen Kojuurou & Sasuke piece). Regarding PropellerShiki… well, I do have some scans leeched shamelessly from the net: has come (the second part, of course), Asahiruban Bon Ben Bon, Love Devil 1 & 2, Thanksgiving and Motto. And apart from the DJ listed in this page, I also have Ai han yuugi, Asian Wild Soul Mate, Karyuu Yusan and Toh rou. You’ve most likely seen them already… but in case there’s any not in your list, just drop me a line and I’ll upload them for you.
[Cmnt]
I think you a the same like me :)
Also I am a big fan of masayuki but I still find something to love in XD (like all yaoi fan)
I love Someya Rui because them drawing, so cute :))
But I also love another artis like Versus, Shirou Akira, Bengal or Kiz, Micromacro is in too
THen…..
I have almost dj of bengal so can you share me the other scan of Someya please? XD~
[Cmnt]
MICROMACRO used to be one of my favorite Senbasa DJs… until for some reason most if not almost all of their works turned into PWP or otherwise pretty smutty pieces, something I like as a side bonus in my doujinshi but not as the focus of 50+ pages. So I pretty much stopped buying Yamada Sakurako’s works after a while… and I really miss their Sengoku Musou DJs, which were more drama and less smut.
…I’m currently uploading the PropellerShiki’s DJs. They’re scanned by Doujin Anime so I’d rather not share them in this page – but since I don’t think it’ll be a problem if I do so privately, I’ll send you the links via email once I’m doing uploading.
[Cmnt]
Thank you so much.
Now I hear that Micromacro are drawing SB 3 manga for capcom XD~
Waiting a~
[Cmnt]
You’re welcome.
Ah yes, there’s this mangaka who made short pieces for SB2Heroes and who signs as Sasaki? Sasakura? Kou (sorry, I’m not sure of the reading of the kanjis). Said mangaka is in charge of yet another SB-related manga centered in Masayuki and, well, his style is identical to Yamada Sakurako’s. Not only the drawing, but the manga techniques as well, so everyone has pretty much assumed it’s Yamada from MICROMACRO under another name :) I think there are three different SB3 mangas so far (or at least I remember seeing ads for three different versions), but Yamada Sakurako drawing one of them (or a completely different one, *sighs, CAPCOM*) is news to me. In any case, and since I like her style (when she isn’t drawing smut I mean), I’ll be looking forward for any official SB work she might do in the future.
[Cmnt]
Then, I will looking forward about SB3 that time :”>
*dance*
by the way I’m saw that you can took DJs in DoujinAnime , where I can’t login in*Sign* so I wanna ask If you could found some DJs, what you think great in that?
I have very much DJ now but can’t see What is intersting except some like MICROMACRO, Bengal, Kiz/Nari and Shirou akira’s.
*ps : Kiz/Nari’s Doujin also have One named : Aquarium~ XD~`
Also find some disk Game of SB2 but I don’t have Ps2 to play :)) *sad thing*
[Cmnt]
I have several DJs scanned by Doujin Anime, but I didn’t download them from their site. I downloaded them from different pages before Doujin Anime’s express request of no resharing was enforced by said sites – and that’s why I don’t share them in my site. Also, please don’t ask to look for DJs; I don’t mind sharing what I have, but buying DJs or otherwise getting scans upon request isn’t something I do.
Ah yes, there’s Kiz/Nari’s Aquarium… Bliss released a scanlated version and I read it a few days ago. It felt more like comedy-driven and it wasn’t a bad reading (and, besides, Sasuke/Yukimura DJs are kind of hard to get), but not as good as their ongoing and pretty famous Revaival either.
[Cmnt]
oh yes, I understand what you say ~__~
Revaival is really great~ but is hard alot to understand :))
[Cmnt]
A, I forgot one thing, This site’s backround changing alot isn’t it :))
But I thought the one before (the black one) is much pretty :)
[Cmnt]
I’ve been changing layouts in my site. After several weeks with the previous one, I wanted a new one… it’s only that I haven’t been able to come up with a design of my own for the past year or so. So I pick a premade layout I like and customize it to my liking… If it ever looks like my site is having bugs, missing pages or goes kaputt – that’s just probably me, trying a few codes. Well, the previous design was quite nice, but I grew bored of it and wanted to try a minimalist layout…
[Cmnt]
Hi Scy
sorry for asking suddenly, but I wanna ask if you have a Raw Scan of Revaival # 5 :| I have one but it is only with the brush of Micracle may ~__~
[Cmnt]
Thank you so very much! :D This has made my Spring Break!
[Cmnt]
You’re welcome, dear. Thanks for your comment!
[Cmnt]
Hi, Scyllua
I happened to browse your website. And it’s out of my expectation to find several DJs of SasuYuki here since this pairing isn’t as popluar as KyuuMasa or MasaYuki in China. I really enjoy Isaki Rika’s individual style of painting and plot, which is quite different from Tsunako’s.(I always consider her description style of SasuYuki as mildness and purity. So it really shocked me when I learned that she began to publish R18 DJ) Thank you for your generous sharing.
I wonder if it possible for me to translate your three scans of Rika. Your contribution will surely be mentioned by noticing your site;)
Thanks a lot.
[Cmnt]
Hello! You’re welcome. And thanks for your comment!
Well, you’re right: SasuYuki doesn’t seem to be that popular as KoMasa or MasaYuki, which is a shame since it’s my favorite pairing in SenBasa. I’m always looking for more SasuYuki DJs, only that they’re scarce, or the few ones that I come across aren’t that good. In that sense, I greatly enjoy Isaki Rika’s DJs, but my two complaints about this artist’s works? They’re too short for my tastes, and not that many (or at the very least, I can’t seem to find more of her works). Has she started drawing R18? Well… I think that’s coming as sort of a shock for me, too (I prefer her works more plot, “relationship”-centered rather than sex-focused, I suppose).
Of course, you’re most welcomed to use my scans for scanlations. I’m always happy to be able to contribute with the fandom. If you need higher resolution scans, or rescanning of some files, feel free to request them: I can provide those, too.
And lastly, thanks for spreading the SasuYuki love; the fandom definitely needs of this pairing.
[Cmnt]
Woa ‘ o ‘ I don’t know that you like SasuYuki Djs :D I like that couple too but not much as MasaYuki ~ gomene :P
I here to say that long time no see :D
[Cmnt]
Hello! Good to see you dropping by… And sorry for the late reply. It’s just been me and my usual laziness to update this page.
Yep, SaYuki is my Senbasa OTP. There are others I like a lot, naturally (well… my KoMasa and ChikaNari DJs might hint at them), but Sasuke/Yukimura is my favorite one. Too bad it’s rather hard to come across good and varied titles featuring the pairing… And no need to apologize. I also like MasaYuki, although I tend to favor works by certain authors when it comes to this pairing (*cough* bengal/Honoha *cough*). Well, I also enjoyed Sengokumaru’s MasaYuki works, so it was sort of a disappointment for me that the circle decided to change their focus to the KoMasa pairing after the release of SB2…
[Cmnt]
I understand what you feel, SasuYuki is my second favourite pairing in SenBasa – of course the most is MasaYuki *laugh* :)) I also like another pairing, but in SB3, the circle is also write about Komasa not masayuki or Sasuyuki anymore – so sad *cry* It is the disaster to me not big but still hurt TT^TT. By the way, what is the Sengokumaru’s works you mention ?? I don’t understand much
[Cmnt]
Well, the only other Sengokumaru MasaYuki doujinshi I found was Sugary Skill (you can check the pretty much sold out DJ here at JPqueen). I don’t really know if this circle released more MasaYuki DJs prior to changing pairings and becoming KoMasa supporters. Not that I complain too much about this, since I also like the KoMasa pairing, but I’d have loved to see more MasaYuki by Sengokumaru.
[Cmnt]
OK I already know who is! By the way thank you for updated :)) you really work hard!! *Hug*
[Cmnt]
Thanks for your comment! I really appreciate it.
Here’s another update… and I’m afraid I’ve run out of bengal/honoha’s DJs to scan for the time being. But hopefully I’ll have another Isaki Rika’s doujinshi up in two weeks time or so.
[Cmnt]
That’s ok ^^~, a by the way do you know the circle of doujinshi “Come home” ? ‘ ‘
[Cmnt]
The circle is called “Makibishi”, right? I have scans for only two of their DJs, “Go Home” and “Secret of the Tenko Kamen”, both scanlatedin Chinese.
[Cmnt]
Oh, right! I said about her because I want to ask about anotherdouof her!Nintama, do youknow that?
[Cmnt]
I’m sorry, I’m afraid I know next to nothing about Nintama (except that’s also about ninjas… and a very long-lived anime, I think), and unfortunately I don’t have any fanworks related to this title.
[Cmnt]
Hola!
[Cmnt]
thank you !!!i never though i´ll get so many doshinjis from only one site !!!!! tanke tanke tanke !!!!
[Cmnt]
Thanks for the comment, dear!
I apologize for the lack of updates to this page, though…
[Cmnt]
Wao, you change you theme again !! It so Awesome XD~
[Cmnt]
Sorry for the very delayed reply! I intended to wait until I updated this page to reply to you, but somehow it took me over 3 weeks… Yep, I thought I’d kept the former layout long enough, and since most if not all of my layouts tend to be white-themed, I wanted to try something different for once. I hope this new layout doesn’t make the text harder to read or anything…
[Cmnt]
You made my day!
Wish you all the best! Thank you so much for this.I love you and your wonderful site!
[Cmnt]
Thanks! It’s my pleasure. I’m so glad you’ve liked my site so much. I’ll be updating my pretty neglected Senbasa section during the upcoming weeks, so I’m hoping to see you here sometime soon again. Bye!
[Cmnt]
Hi, I’m looking for Sengoku Basara manga Rans Ranbu Volume 1, 2 and 3, in English or Spanish. would greatly appreciate it if anyone knows where to download it. I just finished watching the series. and I read the 3 sleeves. thanks. please respond.
Greetings, Argentina.
[Cmnt]
Hello there. I’m afraid Ranse Ranbu hasn’t been scanlated in either English or Spanish. There was a group that was working on it and released a couple of chapters, but then CAPCOM licensed the manga in the US and they dropped the project. Ranse Ranbu is supposed to be officially released in English by Udon, which publishes CAPCOM books and mangas in the States; supposedly as well, they’d renamed the manga Devil Kings Basara, but it’s been like a couple of years already since Udon’s licensed it and it hasn’t hit the stores yet.
On the bright side, being Ranse Ranbu the only official Senbasa manga they’ve licensed so far, you can still find English scanlations for other SB titles (such as the Sengoku BASARA 2 manga by Yaku Haibara, or the ongoing Sengoku BASARA 3 Roar of the Dragon). As far as I know, there’s only group working in Spanish scanlations, but they focus in doujinshi instead.
[Cmnt]
Hello Scyllua, I stumbled here a time ago looking for Sengoku Basara doujins :) Thanks for sharing so many of them!
I want to ask if you have noticed any Ieyasu/Mitsunari doujins, or is it just that no one has made them yet? I was very surprised to see the Mitsunari/Yukimura one, but I’m not a big fan of Mitsunari seme..
Also where do you buy your doujins from, if you don’t mind me asking. I greatly appreciate that you share these wonderful doujins, it helps me discover new doujinkas that I really like, however I also like to have a real book in my hands too ^^
A big thanks to you!
[Cmnt]
You’re welcome. I’d neglected this page for so long, it was already time for me to update it…
I’m looking for Ieyasu/Mitsunari doujinshi myself :) So far I’ve seen like… two… in the store I usually buy from, which is Mandarake. I’d also say we don’t see more IeMitsu DJs because the game was released a couple of months ago and it’s still too soon for artists and circles to be publishing them. But in a few months time, and given the popularity of this pairing in the Japanese fandom, I’m sure we’ll see plenty of IeMitsu doujinshi. I’m hoping so!
Currently I only buy from Mandarake. Unfortunately, quite a number of Japanese sites such as Toranoana won’t ship overseas, and other DJ stores you might find online don’t have a large catalog. That’s why Mandarake comes as a pretty good option, since they’re constantly getting new stock and their prices and shipping fees are pretty affordable, and of course, they do ship overseas! It’s definetely worth a try.
[Cmnt]
Wow! Doujinshi from Bengal!! Thank you for your sharing ^^
I have 2 favorite pairs, Kojuurou-Masamune & Masamune-Yukimura. I like Yukimura the most in Basara. Who will be sincere, fair and innocent like him in that war, I think noone. Thus, it is fun to see his every action :D
Ps. Truly said, ever since I got addicted to Basara, I spend a lot of my spare times reading mangas & doujinshi as well as learnt more difficult Kanji words. Even I can read Japanese, but I never want to go through the stories page by page like this. Basara makes me work hards on what I have lacked before ^^ !!!
[Cmnt]
You’re welcome. To be honest with you, and even if it sounds as a contradiction (I mean, take a look at my doujinshi collection), I don’t like the MasaYuki that much… unless it’s a bengal DJ. This is one of my favorite circles and I try to collect every book I can find by them. Obviously, I don’t dislike MasaYuki either (otherwise I wouldn’t have like 20+ books of this pairing alone), but this pairing ranks rather low in my overall preferences.
Ha ha, I’d say it’s the opposite with me: I can manage a very little Japanese (and know like a couple of kanjis), however I try to go through doujinshi and manga page by page… even if I can’t understand like, uh, 90% of the text. Guess it’s time for me to properly learn the language (even if it’s only so I can figure out my doujinshi titles). But it’s a good thing that Basara is motivating you to learn and practice your Japanese :)
[Cmnt]
Thank you! I’ve been wanting to check out Bronze Eit’s djs for a while. Much appreciated.
[Cmnt]
You’re welcome! Unfortunately, I have but a few Bronze Eit DJs, but I’m glad you like them nonetheless.
[Cmnt]
saludos y gracias de new wapa ^o^
[Cmnt]
Wow!! This is a great collection of Sengoku Basara doujins!! Thank you so much for sharing these wonderful doujinshi’ to us!!
I have a question: I downloaded Basara SAIROKU #1 and it was great, but later on I found out that the doujin artist released two more (Basara SAIROKU #2 and #3).
Do you have any idea where I can download these??
[Cmnt]
You’re welcome! And thank you very much for your comment.
Well, Basara Sairoku #2 is another compilation of Micromacro’s works; I haven’t seen the whole volume scanned, but you can find almost all of the doujinshi included in said book individually. Sairoku #2 includes until the last dog dies, All’s well that ends well, Onsen ni Ikimashita, Dum spiro, spero, Alter ego and a short story drawn especially for that volume: as you can see, I was only missing Alter Ego from that book, so that’s why I never bought it :) (And, oh well, I’m not a big fan of Matsunaga/Kojuurou either…)
I haven’t been able to find any information about Sairoku #3, but I’m assuming it must include all other Micromacro’s works, namely Mix Up Game!, Mix Up Love!, Revenge is Sweet, Life is Game and Amantes, amentes. If I’m not wrong, all Micromacro’s Senbasa DJs are available for download at the Aarinfantasy Forum.
Hope that helped!
[Cmnt]
Wow, I love your collection! Though…I’m really hoping you might be able to find some IeyasuxMitsunari doujinshi…
I’ve been dying to read something about those two!
Regardless, may your good progress and fortune flourish!
[Cmnt]
Thank you very much for your comment! And your wishes :) Best wishes to you as well.
At last, I’m seeing some Ieyasu/Mitsunari doujinshi at the store I usually buy my DJ from, Mandarake. So far I’ve grabbed a couple; I saw some samples of those doujinshi at their respective artists’ Pixiv accounts and I liked them. I’ve been neglecting this section again and I still have other DJ scans to edit and upload, so I’m afraid it’ll be some more weeks until I can get to those IeMitsu goodies. Wait until then, please!
[Cmnt]
Pixiv artists are incredible, I’m lucky to be acquainted with a few of them.
Your news excites me. I’d say I cannot wait, but that would be a little selfish. Please take your time with what you need to do–I’m happy enough that you considered my request at all. Just do your best at what you do.
I hope to see them up soon! Take care~
[Cmnt]
Oh, I’m so jealous~ I’ve found the Pixiv accounts of several doujinshika and artists I like by mere chance, and I’d wish I knew some Japanese so I could leave them a message at the very least. It’s so great that you’re acquaintances with some of them.
It’s my pleasure to share these scans. It’s so nice to receive comments such as yours, and I can’t thank people enough for all their patience (well, it’s a fact I’ve taken over six months to upload a single doujinshi). I updated this page today, so there are two more ChikaNari DJs to go until I get to the IeMitsu ones. Again, thanks for your patience!
[Cmnt]
I’ve only had the small chance to just /speak/ with a spare few, really, merely due to my connections to them on DA. TEMARI is an artist you should really considr if you haven’t already–her Yukimura/Sasuke pieces are absolutely amazing!
(And not to worry…I don’t really understand that much Japanese either… >3>; )
The pleasure’s all mine. It’s wonderful people like you who practically save me from going completely berserk.
Take care~
[Cmnt]
Sorry for the late reply!
…But, being able to exchange even a few words with those artists is already great. And you’re right, Temari is such an amazing artist; I found his (eh, her?) Sasuke fanarts by chance when browsing Pixiv and instantly liked his somewhat sketchy art style. But to be honest, I’m stalking (ahem) some Pixiv artists mostly for my OTP in Senbasa 3, Yoshitsugu/Mitsunari. I’m aware that a lot of people over here doesn’t like Yoshitsugu -well, they actually seem to HATE him-, but the YoshiMitsu pairing is fairly popular in the Japanese fandom, hence Pixiv has become my main source for fanworks centered in this couple.
Thanks for the nice words! Truly, I began scanning and uploading my doujinshi as a way to thank the people who also shared theirs on the net… but receiving nice comments such as yourself is always very encouraging.
[Cmnt]
Absolutely no worries.
Oh my god. I love that pairing. I’m such a hoarder of that pairing that I’m almost disgusted with myself on how happy I get when I score big time!
TEMARI was nice enough to do an art trade with me once. It was embarassing because my end of the trade seemed so horrid compared to hers…but I’ll improve! >O<
Oh Temari…She's so incredibly talented. Do you happen to have a DA? I'd love to make art for you if you'd like.
[Cmnt]
Hello, kuchi! I hope you don’t mind I edited your latest comment so it appeared as a new thread. (It’s a small nuisance, these nested comments in WordPress. After some replies, it becomes impossible to read them because they’re limited to such a small space.)
Ha, ha :) I’m sooooo happy I’ve found another YoshiMitsu fan. Well, I haven’t talked to many Senbasa fans, but practically all of the few I did know have told me they couldn’t stand Yoshitsugu, let alone picture him in a pairing with Mitsunari. And, hey! Nothing to be disgusted about when scoring big time! I can spend hours browsing Pixiv, stalking for more Yoshi and Misu goodies, and couldn’t be happier when I happen to stumble on a nice illustration… or short comic (uh, should I call these “doujinshi” instead? Even though they’re not printed, but the principle is the same). My YoshiMitsu folder contains mostly these short comics, which I simply love because they’re such a way for artists and fans to approach these characters and their interaction with each other.
Oh, please don’t say that. Maybe your illustration didn’t look so nice in comparison to Temari’s (well, who wouldn’t like to draw like these very talented artists, after all?), but it’s the intention what counts :) And besides, it’s so great you could do an art trade in the first place! I, for instance, can’t even draw a fairly straight line, so my nephews and nieces laugh at my poor drawings (the best I can get are “stick people”… and usually those have a longer line for a leg, or a not-so-round head). Well, I do have a DA account, but never really made any good use of it and it’s pretty much abandoned right away. But thank you very much for offering to make art for me! I really appreciate it :P It’s not like I’m not saying I wouldn’t like to see your drawings (oh, I’d love to), however I’m afraid I can’t give anything of the sort in exchange… except for more scanned doujinshi, maybe?
[Cmnt]
Hello, Scyllua, no need to fret over such things like that! Good to hear from you!
It’s rather sad, actually, how not many people here like him. I absolutely love his design and story, and what’s not to like about that character? I suppose tastes are rather different around these parts…
The majority of my folder consists of whatever I could possibly get my hands on, really. Since the PIXIV account that I’m using belongs to someone (borrowing it just for the viewing pleasure,) I can’t contribute any of my OWN art to the YoshiMitsu fandom. They don’t seem to accept Canadian e-mail addresses.
As for your drawing “dilemma”, there’s not a person in the world who cannot draw. It all hones in skill, supposedly–I’ll agree, I’m horrid with lines and keeping my art from looking like the work of a drunkard. But time and practice should do the trick.
You owe me absolutely nothing.
I’d be more than happy to draw you a request if I could.
[Cmnt]
Sorry again for the late reply! I’m busy with RL these days and that keeps me away from the internet… but I can’t deny I finally got to play Sengoku Basara: Samurai Heroes, ahem. After exchanging comments with a friend, I got convinced to try the English version and, well, I can say one thing for sure: now I know what so many people seem to dislike Yoshitsugu over here. For the most part, the dubbing is good/just ok (the translation seems to be another issue altogether, though), but Yoshitsugu’s voice actor changes the personality of the character a lot in the English version IMO. Anyway, I’ve only played for a couple of hours (I mean, this games requires like 100+ hours of gameplay) and this is just my first impressions…
I’m a bit surprised at Pixiv not accepting Canadian email addresses… Although I must admit that might be the case. It seems many Japanese webpages and online services don’t accept certain email addresses (such as Hotmail), but I’m registered at Pixiv with my Yahoo address and haven’t got a problem regarding it. If they accept a Peruvian Yahoo address, I don’t see why they wouldn’t accept a Canadian one :) Have you tried another email address?
I’d really love to see your art if it’s available online! Your words have been pretty encouraging to me as well. It’s true, practice and time must teach something to even people so art-challenged as myself… I remember I loved to draw when I was a kid, and didn’t do it as bad as I claim my drawing to be nowadays. It’s just that I stopped drawing, and never took the time to practice again… I’ve been thinking of taking a course or just practicing by myself so I can at least draw my version of stick person!Mitsunari (and scare half the internet with it, ha ha).
[Cmnt]
Yoshitsugu’s english adaptation is incredibly hard to get used to. The Japanese seiyuu adds its own richness to the character, whereas the english voice actor only creates a completely different character. He almost sounds creepy enough to put him on the levels like ‘pedophile’ or ‘creeper’ as I’ve heard people call him.
I’m not entirely fazed by it, considering the amount of damage /Kenshin’s/ voice caused me.
Getting a PIXIV at the moment isn’t really a top priority to me at the moment. Once I manage my time, I’ll consider trying to get one yet again.
I’m glad to have sparked as much inspiration in you as your work has inspired me. I’d be happy to share with you my work. It’s not as amazing as others, but I’m working on it.
http://kuchisakesmile.deviantart.com/
I can’t wait to hear from you soon! Take care~
[Cmnt]
Sorry for the late reply (yet again!)
…I’d find those comments about Yoshitsugu being a pedophile or a creeper funny, if only the idea didn’t freak me out so much, eww. I hope people just call him so because of Tsuruhime – in the game, Yoshitsugu’s “ways” to win over Tsuru and his very flattering tongue were played straight for laughs (taking into consideration the seiyuu), but in the English version I must admit they just sound so… wrong. And after playing SB:SH some more, I must say Michael Sorich’s perfomance does deliver us a totally different character altogether – which annoys me a bit deal. Sorich’s acting is quite good and convincing, but changes the character’s original personality, and I feel that even Yoshitsugu’s relationship with Mitsunari as well. I still have to go through Yoshi’s second story mode, and spite of everything, I’m looking forward to it and Sorich’s perfomance…
I know everyone is traumatized by Dino Andrade’s perfomance as Kenshin, but even if people won’t agree with me on this, I don’t find it that bad. Ahem! Let me explain. Yep, I have no idea why they decided to make Kenshin sound like an old granny with a sore throat, but on the other hand, I do feel the voice actor gets his lines right and is convincing in most dialogues. I. Just. Need. To. Get. Used. To. It.
Oh, I see. Well, I did set up a Pixiv account as soon as I could, since I was using my niece’s. I figured out it wasn’t a good idea to bookmark Yoshitsugu and Mitsunari fanarts in her account, as she had a big collection of Pokemon and pretty G-rated illustrations in it. Uh, especially not now that I changed my account settings to be able to browse the NC-17 material on the site :P
Ah, your Senbasa fanarts are so cute! I’m talking about your SD renditions of Mitsunari and Ieyasu, of course. Hope you don’t mind I added to my favs (but, err, I’m sort of bad at commenting at DA…) I like your somewhat clean, somewhat sketchy style on your other drawings… Ha ha, I never read Romeo & Juliet but my syblings (who did, since it was compulsory for their Literature class) swear it’s boring to death. Does Mitsunari think the same? Hm, I’d say he looks a bit listless rather than bored. And personally, if it comes to Shakespeare’s works, I’d picture him reading titles such as Titus Andronicus (or Hamlet, maybe?) instead, ahem.
[Cmnt]
Michael Sorich did a wonderful job, I’ll give him that much credit. It’s just a little unnerving that they would choose his sort of talent for Yoshitsugu’s dialogue. Did they even try to consider what he’d sound like when he talked to Tsuruhime? No matter. Opinions are opinions.
Keeping pictures of questionable content might not be a good idea, especially when they’re in the hands of someone who’s standards range in the G section. Good call for the change.
…and lucky you. I can’t see any of those things *huffhuff*
Last but not least, thank you ever so much for your kind words. Mitsunari was probably told to read it for class or something…he probably gave up half-way through.
‘I seriously don’t really care about this nonsense.’
[Cmnt]
I was wondering that, too. It becomes apparent they took into consideration the original acting for some roles (Hideaki and Oichi’s voice actors don’t have a thing to envy of Jun Fukuyama or Mamiko Noto, I’d say), but one has to wonder about others such as Yoshitsugu… or Ieyasu. Whereas Liam O’Brien’s acting is quite good as well, his portrayal of Ieyasu is rather serious and solemn – unlike his more easygoing, lighthearted Japanese counterpart. I feel it sounds just awkward in the English version, as other characters point out Ieyasu “should take things more seriously”… even though he’s actually sounding serious enough.
Hah hah… Yep, now I can see all the NC17-rated goodies, but I also need to be extra careful when browsing the site now! Those illustrations pop up without further warning… and there’s nothing like finding out your niece has been peeking over your shoulder all this time, silently…
Hah ha, that’s what Mitsunari would say about the book, indeed! But I’m pretty sure he’d read it if, let’s say, Hanbei were to tell him so: “Mitsunari-kun, this is a book about two star-crossed lovers from rival clans who face a tragic end. I’m sure you might find this reading… instructional.”
[Cmnt]
That’s an impressive collection. Thank you so much for sharing! <333
Especially for:
- Micromacro sairoku (I've been missing "Let Sleeping Dogs Lie Side Y" :D )
- Choutano C-E-Z works – love them! <3
- Fuuma anthology! :D I've just bought it some time ago, but still haven't received it, so thanks to you I got a nice preview. ^_^ I'm not a big fan of anthologies (the stories are too short for me, and it's often like one or two good stories among a bunch of badly written, ugly or just mediocre ones :/. Well, I still buy them anyway – when you like rare pairings, that's often all you can get -_-), but I enjoyed this one quite a bit ^_^
- and everything with Keiji! <3
And probably much more stuff I picked here and there that was scanned by you!
Thanks a lot! <3
[Cmnt]
You’re welcome. And thanks for your comment!
I also love Choutano C-E-Z works… this has to be my favorite doujinshika circle as for now. Even though if I actually prefer Motochika paired up with Ieyasu thanks to SB3… And you’re so right. Most anthologies I’ve come across are worth the time and money for a couple of stories at best, and more often than not, these stories tend to be the shortest in the book. But I still buy them because they aren’t usually that expensive, and you can get to know about the work of more authors and doujinshika thanks to them. The Fuuma Kotarou Anthology turned out to be better than I’d expected (but my favorite pieces of the book are the short ones, yep); I actually grabbed it because it was (it is) so hard to find anything Kotarou-related in the fandom. I’ve been seeing some DJs focused on the Matsunaga/Kotarou pairing as for lately, though, and I’m suspecting it’s due to the anime series (which I haven’t watched), hmm…
Sorry if I don’t have much Kenji-related. Actually, I never liked him… that’s it, until SB3 came around. I must admit this game has made me change my views on many, many characters of the series – and some pairings, too!
[Cmnt]
I LOVE Motochika Chousokabe x Motonari Mouri PAIRING! so keep them coming doll ^^ v
thanks!
[Cmnt]
Hello! And thanks for your comment.
I have other 8 ChikaNari DJs by the same circle (Choutano C-E-Z) I need to scan and edit, it’s just that I’m being too lazy to have them up in a more timely fashion. But you can expect more updates in the next weeks :)
[Cmnt]
Hello! Thank you so much for all these lovely scans! I’ve used a couple of images for my layout and linkage buttons on my Takeda Shingen fansite. I’m planning to include a media gallery later on, if it’s okay with you I’d like to include a few pages to redistribute (of course I will credit you!!)
[Cmnt]
You’re welcome!
It’s good to see Shingen has his fans, too :) I’m afraid the other, err, younger characters get most of the fandom attention… Please feel free to use my scans. Credit is much appreciated, thank you very much!
[Cmnt]
Nice to meet you. Do you have “Dynamite sensational weekend2″ for Motochika Chousokabe x Motonari Mouri? Because I have found this doujinshi for long time.
I wish if you have or found it, could you post this book in your website?
[Cmnt]
Hello! Nice to meet you too!
About the doujinshi you’re asking for… Well, I just bought it :P The little problem is, I bought it on Friday so it’s still in the mail. It should be arriving in about a week. Once it’s here, I’ll try to scan it right away and add it to this page. I was planning to edit Dynamite Sensation Weekend #1 first (which I bought along the second part), but since that DJ is already available on the net, I guess I can just skip it in favor of the second volume. So please wait for it a little longer!
[Cmnt]
Oh~ You brought this DJ “Dynamite sensational weekend2″, I wish you could post it, because I have see the chinese for this DJ’s first volume, but haven’t see the second one. orz
[Cmnt]
Don’t worry, I’ll post it once I finish scanning/editing it. Maybe by next weekend, if there isn’t any delay with the mail.
[Cmnt]
When you see 「Ouja no Kegare 4」?
[Cmnt]
When? Well, it was last Friday. Mandarake added it to its catalog, but it went out of stock right away.
…Ahem, sorry for the lame joke. I take you’re asking whether I have that DJ? Sorry, I don’t. I didn’t buy it back then because I’m running on a tight budget at the moment. I’m hoping to buy it sometime in the future.
[Cmnt]
Thank answer!!!
I will patiently wait for*(^ˇ^)
[Cmnt]
Aww…thank you so much for sharing ><
[Cmnt]
You’re welcome! Thanks for your comment.
[Cmnt]
¡Gracias!
[Cmnt]
Thank you for sharing! Even though the amount is small, I love all your IeMitsu doujinshis! (and looking forward to more doujins of them <3) I also like your Kojuurou/Masamune doujinshis too! xD
[Cmnt]
You’re welcome!
I’m also looking forward to adding more titles to my small IeMitsu collection. Almost nine months after SB3 release, IeMitsu DJs are beginning to pop up in the store I usually get mine from (Mandarake). I hope they stock some by my favorite Pixiv artists :)
[Cmnt]
The number is sure growing. OWO I’m also looking forward to the IeMitsu doujinshi collaboration that is going to be made by several Pixiv artists. XD
By the way, can I share the download link to Tumblr? Of course, I’ll credit you and link the post back to here~
[Cmnt]
Really? I haven’t been to Pixiv in some time now (err, like a week or two :P ) and it already seems like I’m missing on several things. For starters, I think I haven’t seen the IeMitsu collaboration you mention; I’ll have to go look for it (and hope it’s stocked by my store once it’s available!)
Sure, feel free to share the link to this page (
it’s more advertising for my web, yay!Just kidding.) I’d just kindly ask not to directly repost the download links to each doujinshi; I try to keep an eye on hotlinking -even if it’s just one image or one file- because we have other hostees in this very same domain, and I wouldn’t like to affect them because of bandwidth issues. Thanks![Cmnt]
http://chikuwa.xii.jp/bsr/sgh1600/top.html the link of the collaboration doujinshi. Well, it has “Sekigahara” on the title and from most of the artist’s works, they mostly draw IeMitsu oWo
Oh, thank you so much!
And btw sorry for the late reply >_>
[Cmnt]
No prob :)
Thanks for the link to the collaboration doujinshi! However, from what I read under the information tab, it isn’t a collection of stories, but rather a compilation of color illustrations by different artists. It also reads it’s 28 pages long, and judging from the number of participants (ten), I assume it should feature a similar number of illustrations. Well, I must confess I’m not overly interested in illustrations only (I’d rather see manga, ie. doujinshi), but if it happens to be stocked by the store I buy from and my budget allows it, I guess I could as well add it to my list.
[Cmnt]
Hello! I’m from a scanlation group and I would like to know if you allow we use some of your scans for a Japanese-English translation/adaptation?!
Of course all the credits will be give to you, and any other credits page that you want to be added when released!
I do hope for your reply!
Have a nice day,
HokaHoka~
[Cmnt]
Hello! Sure, you’re most welcomed to use my scans for translations. I’m assuming you’ll be scanlating the DJs; if so, I can always provide better resolution or HQ files of the scans. Feel free to ask if you need rescans (you can drop me a line at my email address for those).
I’ve just saw at your LJcom community you’re planning to trasnlate/scan the Ouja no Kegare series. I’d just like to tell you I bought the fourth volume of the series, if you’re also interested in that one; at the moment, I don’t know how much time packages from Japan might take because of the recent earthquake, but if my mail isn’t delayed, it should be arriving by next weekend (around the 26th or the 27th). Also, I couldn’t help notice you’re hotlinking my Photobucket account :) It’s no big deal, but I’d greatly appreciate it if you could upload the cover images to your own server. It’s just that I share my personal domain and Photobucket account with other people, so I try to keep a tab on the bandwidth as to not affect them. Thanks!
[Cmnt]
Thanks a lot for agree with my request!
OwO you would even do that! I mean scan for better resolution…OMG I’m really happy! And it have volume 04…..O.o so much xD, but still I’m interested in it, but that your time to scan it since I don’t know when we will have it ready *kicks butt*
>.< I'm sorry I will change it right now…it wasn't my intention *kicks again*. I'll change it right now!
Once again thanks a lot for it, once we start this series I will let you know as well I will post when we complete it!
A big hug as well a special thanks kiss for being so nice!
Greetings,
HokaHoka
[Cmnt]
Sure I can rescan any file or even any whole DJ you might need. I know I’m not the best at scanning which, err, it’s a very nice way to say I’m actually quite bad at it. I’m still can’t get straight scans, for instance, and barely understand how to use our not-so-new scanner.
As I said, it was no big deal that you were directly linking to our Photobucket account… Well, each image was like 50kb or so, so it wasn’t like I was going to run out of bandwidth anytime soon – but I do try to keep track of hotlinks and the such because of the hostees. Currently, I eat about 120GB of monthly bandwidth because of the scans and the CD dramas/OST files alone, and my sister -whom I share this web hosting with- is beginning to give me the evil eye for that :) Anyway, thanks for changing the hotlinks!
It’s my pleasure to be able to contribute with the fandom. And please take your time with the scanlations; we all know those require quite a lot of time and effort. We fans surely appreciate what you do.
Bye!
[Cmnt]
OwO that is so goos, and I must say your scans aren’t that bad so don’t need worry, I may ask better scans because the Japanese translators may need bigger ones!
Also for make a “trade” We will share with you original RAW’s of 6 doujinshis we are receiving if you want of course!
It will have watermark but hope you don’t mind! ^^
AND THAT IS A HUGE monthly bandwidth xD
But I already change it (changing it actually XD) So hope it’s ok. As for your sister…hope the “evil eye” will stop *crossfingers*
Thanks for being so nice to us! We will make our best as soon as we can *promise*
So once again, THANKS
Hugs and BYE! ^^
[Cmnt]
Oh~ Then I suppose I’m getting the knack of scanning/editing at last! But anyway, just feel free to ask for bigger resolution scans whenever you need. It’ll be my pleasure.
I’ll appreciate it if you could send me those RAW scans :P How can I say “no” to more doujinshi goodies? Of course, watermarks aren’t a problem at all.
…And that reminds me. I’ve read some of your scanlations; specifically, your Family Walker series scanlations. In fact, I made a post so I could share them here at my blog. As the files include the credits page and I saw no request not to reshare them, I assumed it was ok to repost them. Err, is it ok, isn’t it? I realized I never noted down what the scanlation group for those DJs was, so I’m off to make the corrections on the spot. But if you prefer me not to reshare them, just tell me and I’ll take them down. Sorry for that!
Ha, ha, it’s something to be expected, my sister’s evil eye on me and all. After all, we halve the domain/hosting fees, but she uses like 400MB of bandwidth in comparison to my 120GB, so I can totally understand her “death glare”.
Again, it’s my pleasure to be able to contribute with my scans :) Take your time with the scanlations, for we all know those can demand quite a lot of effort. But I won’t deny I’m so looking forward to seeing the scanlations; thanks to my AMAZING Japanese skills, I can understand like, what?, like the title and 10% of the text in any doujinshi. And that also includes the, err, “short phrases”, gasps, moans, and similars…
Thanks, and bye!
[Cmnt]
Ok don’t need to worry! *yay, thanks for being so nice to us!*
Ok then when I do have it, I mean the doujinshis I will give you the download links as soon as I do have it ^^ trough it would be amazing scans *kicks*
As for the doujinshis and the credits I do think I did replied it in the other reply!
OWO that is an amazing difference! I don’t have any site and anything…also I did notice that you are from Spain??? because I’m from Portugal xD
AHHH it’s like mine…I mean if I read and make it I may understand…but I take HOURS to complete a sentence and if a bubble have to much text I’m like…”What did he said? I didn’t get half T^T” So yes…<.<
Hope everything is ok!
xD, take care
[Cmnt]
Sorry for getting back to you a bit late. It seems like one of my computer’s harddisks wants to die on me and I’m just updating this page and replying to messages just now. I was almost sure the harddisk had gone totally kaputt, though, and that my 27GB worth of DJ scans was gone forever! (That’s the collection I’ve been collecting for the past few years – yep, I think internet is for dowloading goodies… ok, and for some
pornoyaoi, too).Oh, that’s a surprise! I didn’t know you were from Portugal. I’m from Peru, actually, and I must add I can barely understand some written Portuguese, even if people swear it’s easy to pick up this language if you know Spanish already. Well, not easy for me, that’s true! My sister can manage some Portuguese because many of her coworkers were Brazilian, though I don’t know whether the Portuguese spoken in Brazil differs from, well, the Portuguese from Portugal :) (yay for redundant redundancy!) In Peru, we speak Castilian, which is a bit different from Spanish, but mostly in the accent and the pronunciation of certain sounds.
I’m off to reply your other comment now!
[Cmnt]
Now it’s official: I’m a big fail orz.
I was checking the credits page you include with your scanlations, and JUST NOW I noticed you explicitly ask not to reshare without your permission. I’m so sorry about that!
I’m taking down my post with the Kanako Nagi/seil DJs. I can’t demand other people not to do that or this, if I can’t do the same with their requests, can I? Again, I’m very sorry! I should be more careful and practice my reading comprehension from now on (I was sure the credits page read “not to reshare without the credits” only).
[Cmnt]
No you aren’t!
It’s ok you don’t need to remove it now!
You did give us credits as well to arigatomina as well so I’m glad that you did!
And don’t need to worry!
It’s ok!
Also if you want to share more it’s ok! All you need to do is write that the permission was given by me, HokaHoka. Or else other staff member that may come here will report it to me! <.<
*goes comment the other post!*
[Cmnt]
Ah, thank you very much!
I’ll be updating the entry with the proper information in a moment. I’d like to thank you again for both your permission and your hard work; I really, really like Nagi Kanako’s doujinshi and Family Walker has to be my favorite DJ by this author. I was glad to see the whole series has been scanlated, I felt I had to share my joy with the world, and thus the post!
I must be more careful, though. I still don’t know how I could miss your credits page; this only proves I fail big time at reading comprehension. ORZ!
Thanks again for everything!
[Cmnt]
Hey sorry to bother you :) I’m just going around asking everyone about what scanner they use. I just recently bought a epson v30 to scan manga tanks but the scans come out really bad. Just curious if you had a epson and can give me some setting tips ^^
if not then I just want to know what you have since I’m planning to buy another new scanner. I’ve heard canon are better >_<
thanks ^^
[Cmnt]
Sorry for the late reply! And it’s not a bother at all. I’m actually glad you’ve asked me, even if I can hardly seem to know how my scanner works.
I do have an Epson scanner/printer. It’s an Epson TX125; at around $40, it’s pretty much the cheapest you can get in the market over here, but it works really well for us. I had to tweak with the settings for a while until I managed to get proper scans. And I must say I barely understand how to use it, but I hope the little I can provide may be of some help to you.
…First of all, I must also add all my scanner’s settings are in Spanish because of my computer’s default language. Anyway, I took some screencaps so that you could see what the settings look like. According to the program info, I have Epson Scan 3.7.7 as the installed software for the scanner (Screenshot #1). These are my default settings for the scanner (Screenshot #2). I just use the “Easy Mode”; for color images, I use the setting for “Photography”, in color (of course), and scan at 300dpi (although some recommend higher output resolutions for color images, something in the 600dpi range or so).
After I hit the “Pre-visualization” button, the Output Size (called “tamaño destino” in Spanish, see Screenshot #3) is set to “original” automatically. I found the scanner kept on cropping the images if I left the settings in “original” for this option, so instead I set it to a fixed size in pixels (Screenshot #4). Since I always resize my scans to 1000px wide (and around 1500px high) after editing them, I set the output size to 2000x2700px. Also, I always tick the option called “destramado” in Spanish… which unfortunately I don’t know how it’s called in English. It’s the one the arrow is pointing to, the first in the left row (Screenshot #5). If you deselect that option, color images tend to be rendered with sort of a grid on them, just like this one scan. I leave all other options unselected.
Black & White images kept on giving me trouble to scan, too, so I ended up using those very same settings – and changed only the “document/file type” option from “Photography” to “Newspaper” (Screenshot #6). The one change is that instead of “image type: color”, we have now “image type: grayscale” (Screenshot #7). The downside to using this option is that scans are rendered in a lighter gray tone, so manga or doujinshi with light screentones will lose detail.
And that’d be pretty much all, even if I doubt any of my tips will be helpful like, at all :)
[Cmnt]
thank you sooo much! I actually use the same settings as you do!

Sadly I think manga and doujinshi are just two different species such that the paper quality just sucks for mangas and hence the mad scans –;;
[Cmnt]
Sorry for the late reply!
Actually, the scans you’re getting for your mangas are just the quality every scanner is more likely to get :) You’re right, the paper quality is different, and then there’s the fact that since they’re black-and-white, the color tone used will rendered the scans with such a gray toned texture. The trick, then, is in the editing.
Your scans actually look better than many of my scans. Really! I can’t get my doujinshi flat enough on the scanner to reach the areas near to the binding, for instance. Well, some years ago, when I began scanning my first DJs, I was recommended a guide to manga editing, and I’ve been following those tips since then. It’s The Idiot’s Guide To Editing Manga, but don’t be fooled by the title :P, since it’s actually quite a comprehensive guide. It’s written for a editing program such as Photoshop, but maybe the general settings and tips can be applicable to other programs, too? Anyway, I can’t recommend that guide enough. You’ll see how some basic editing can make a whole difference when it comes to manga scans.
