Doujinshi List

I’m sometimes asked whether I have a particular doujinshi, so I decided to make a list of all the books I currently have and I’m planning to scan. I don’t follow a particular order, so if there’s any DJ from this list you’d like me to scan next, feel free to leave a message here.

Not In the Queue List

I’m not currently planning to scan the DJs in this list. This is because the doujinshi have a considerable number of pages (the Garaku’s books are 200+ pages long, for instance) and the binding makes it difficult to scan them. I’d have to cut loose the pages from the binding in order to scan them, but I’d rather not damage the books. Sorry about this.

  1. I want “Kare wa Seiki dewa naku” ,”Mind Oversupply” ,”Kimi o Omou”and “Sekigahara Anthology Kikaku – Kizuna”

  2. ah doujinshi… my guilty pleasure X)

Anyway, Mongo / Choutano C-E-Z’s “1 or 8″, “Mutsugoro” and “Kare wa Seiki dewa naku”. Very in love with Mongo’s drawing and her (is it a ‘she’?) depiction of MotoMoto.

    [Cmnt]

    It’s mine, too.
…Err, actually, I suppose my true guilty pleasures are those “A and B have children” kind of doujinshi. The lone Mitsunari/Yoshitsugu DJ I have that premise… it’s a rather crackish doujinshi, I may add, but it still amuses me to no end o.0

I also love how Mongo depicts the ChikaNari pairing. Especially because the circle manages to get Motonari very IC. As per Mongo’ gender… I must say I have no idea, ahem. That’s why I usually go for “generic” male pronouns for all doujinshi artists, or simply use the plural “they”.

  3. I have seen this 「Queue List」!!!
You have heard my request、Thank you very much*

    [Cmnt]

Sorry for the late reply! And you’re welcome. I’ve uploaded Ouja no Kegare #4 at last. Hope you enjoy it (even if it isn’t that good as #3, I’m afraid…)

    [Cmnt]

  4. i want “fearless”, “mutsugoro”, “1 or 8″ and “mind oversupply”

  5. If you can, I’d really like to see…
    It looks so hot..!

    [Cmnt]

You aren’t the only one who’d like to see that DJ :P
…Unfortunately, YoshiMitsu (well, MitsuYoshi is actually way more popular in the Japanese fandom) doujinshi seem to be hard to come across… but be reassured I’ll try to get that DJ given the chance.

    [Cmnt]

Aaah. I personally prefer YoshiMitsu over the latter. Aah, thank you ever so much, Scyllua. It’d make me incredibly happy to finally be able to read a doujinshi of those two. I’m always checking in on your updates!
    Thank you once again~ <3

    [Cmnt]

    You’re welcome, dear.
…Well, I don’t actually have any preference regarding Yoshitsugu and Mitsunari as a pairing. It doesn’t really matter to me who’s the seme or who’s the uke in any pairing, if we were to talk about the typical roles (archetypes? stereotypes?) we’re so used to seeing in the fandom. I can’t help notice the Japanese fandom tends to depict Yoshitsugu amazingly, outstandingly, and incredibly OOC when it comes to the MitsuYoshi pairing. It… just… irks… me… a bit. Or a lot.

…Need more YoshiMitsu (or the other way round, doesn’t matter) doujinshi!

    [Cmnt]

Yes..sometimes he seems almost like a completely different character in some, if not most depictions. Although I find it incredibly adorable, I sometimes fool myself into thinking it’s a different character.

Looking over the list again, I also noticed Gasai in the list not queued. SaYuki is another one of my favorite pairings, so if you happen to find the time to put that up, it would be much appreciated.

    [Cmnt]

…I can’t stand seeing Yoshitsugu too OOC. It’s just that the Japanese fandom sometimes depict him as the stereotypical shy, weak, and submissive uke to Mitsunari, a portrayal that IMO totally goes against his canon character. If a character is changed at his or her core traits just like that, then that isn’t the same character for me. I feel such portrayals should pertain more to original works rather than fanarts.

Gasai is a collection of pretty good stories, actually. I’ve been meaning to scan it, but… unless I cut off the binding and separate each page, I don’t see a way to get decent scans of it…

    [Cmnt]

  6. Hello! Always thanks for your sharing!! :))
    I want “Fearless”&“Sekigahara Anthology Kikaku – Kizuna”&“Mutsugoro”.

By the way, some Japanese title is wrong.
“Kare wa Seiki dewa naku”→“Kare ha Shouki deha naku”
“Kyo’ou Yomeiri!? Saigun Kazoku Hon 1”→“Kyo’ou Yomeiri!? Seigun Kazoku Hon 1”
“Tobu Yume Shibaraku Minai”→“Tobu Yume Wo Shibaraku Minai”
    Japanese is very difficult!

    [Cmnt]

Ah, thanks for the correction :P
I noticed I’d made a mistake with “seigun”, but I didn’t have the time to correct it until now. Also, I totally forgot to include the particle “o” in Tobu Yume o Shibaraku Minai, so I’ll be correcting it right away.
As per the other titles, though – it’s more a matter of what “type” of the Hepburn Romanization system you want to use. In my case, I like to use the so-called “Waaporu” style, hence I write “Ootani” instead of Ohtani or Ōtani. I think the Waaporu Style helps avoid confusion with certain sounds; for instance, I prefer to use “wa” for the participle instead of “ha” in order to indicate the former is the particle used for the subject in a sentence. The same goes for the particle “o” (or “wo”, as it’s also rendered).

…But I’m wondering about the word 正気: it seems it can be read either “seiki” or “shouki”, with no change in meaning (see this entry at Jisho for more details). I went with the first reading because I’m more used to the on’yomi “sei” rather than “shou” for the kanji. I should look into whether the two readings actually have different meanings, though.

    [Cmnt]

  7. You are very helpful, Scyllua:P
could you mind scan “Fearless”, “Kimo o Omou” and “Sekigahara Anthology Kikaku – Kizuna”
Ieyasu Tokugawa x Mitsunari Ishida is very attractive.

    [Cmnt]

    Thanks for the comment!
Yep, Iemitsu x Mitsunari is quite an attractive pairing. The Sekigahara Anthology isn’t that good, actually, since it’s more a collection of gags-oriented short stories, but I’ll take note of the other DJs you’re requesting.

    [Cmnt]

  8. Do you have this book?
    http://doujinshi.mugimugi.org/book/378356/

    [Cmnt]

    I’d wish!
…Or in other words, no, I don’t. The very purpose of this page is to list the doujinshi I do have, so there’s no need for people to ask whether I have this or that.

    [Cmnt]

  9. your page is so auzam!
thanks sooo much for all the Doujinshi’s1
    will you be scanning/posting this doujinshi soon?;

    Mutsugoro
    By Mongo / Choutano C-E-Z
    fandom: Sengoku BASARA
    release date: August 2009
pairing: Motochika Chousokabe x Motonari Mouri
    rating: NC-17

    [Cmnt]

You’re welcome, and thanks for the comment!
Well, because of your request, I’ll post Mutsuguro after I upload Kare wa Seiki dewa naku . Sooooo… maybe by next week’s end?

    [Cmnt]

  10. I love both of Nisikiza’s doujinshis that you have uploaded, so I think I’m requesting for “Fearless” xD

    [Cmnt]

  11. I will love you if you scan that Mitsunari x Yoshitsugu Doujin, I really love that couple =(((

    [Cmnt]

  12. okay..I don’t know which one I should ask you first o_o but… can you upload by the kiss that moves from the soul? XD
Well, I do wondering why the heck masamune can actually be in that house…and I kind of want to know his reaction about chika and nari’s relationship lol… so that’s probably be the one..that is if you’re okay with it o_o

    [Cmnt]

    Thanks for your comments!
Well, regarding Masa in Chika’s house in by the kiss…, I guess you could say it was all due to some circumstances, but I like to think Hisahide had a little bit to do with it as well, ha ha. And curiously enough, it seems that the whole cast is fine with Chika and Nari’s relationship in this AU series? Even Hanbei, who apparently can’t help be nosy (gotta love him when he’s pestering Nari).

If my math doesn’t fail me and I abide by the democratic principle, then next update will be Mind Oversupply. But that’s a rather short DJ, and since I also want to upload by the kiss…, I was wondering if my vote also counts? That way, we’ll be two asking for it in the next update :)

    [Cmnt]

Hisahide…I do hate him…in the game..in the anime…even only listening by his voice actor (even though he’s one of my favorite voice actor -_-a). But hearing that all of the cast is okay with their relationship kinda relief me lol. Or maybe it’s just so obvious that they’re head over heels for each other and yeah, I kinda agree with you about Hanbei, he seems like a high schooler girl talking about love life with Nari.

Btw, of course your vote also counts =)) if not, you could just comment using anonymous name instead lol. Kidding~ I would like too, since it’s Bengal who made it anyway so I won’t mind XD

    [Cmnt]

Ah, the anime… I keep telling myself I should watch it, if only because of Hisahide and Hanbei. My biggest disappointment with SB3, I deem, is that I was so sure Hisahide would appear as a playable character in this game… So I suppose I don’t have to clarify I do like him, do I? :) Anyway, getting back to the doujinshi… Hanbei is rather OOC in this AU series (curiously enough, the Japanese fandom tends to depict him under a more… benign and light-hearted light, sort of), but I don’t complain too much: seeing him go hysterical at Hideyoshi’s Self-Styled Rescue Team was funny enough.

You know, I think I’ll begin leaving anonymous comments on this page with my votes too… Such a great idea! Because democracy is good, yeah… as long as it’s favoring you. Otherwise, it might suck big time. But, psst, psst… I couldn’t help myself and ended up scanning by the kiss… I’ve posted it in this entry at my blog. Well~, I did say I’d post the DJs with the most votes first here, but I never specified I wasn’t going to upload other DJs in other sections of my page, did I?

    [Cmnt]

Lol, yeah.. they do tends to make Hanbei more light hearted in the AU series, but sometimes it just makes the story funnier I guess, though sometimes I think he’s just like Hideyoshi’s personal wife, even the doujinka draw him as a very cute character lol, too bad he died in the anime… even in the SB 2 Manga… Hanbei in the game is just like, the god of speed? Heck his every moves are fast. Talking about Hisahide, I think he’s probably one of the strongest character in SB… Heck, I’m having a great deal only to kill him, but maybe because he’s the somewhat the strongest character around, so capcom actually still make him an NPC… maybe he’ll appear…hopefully in SB 4…
Lol, I think I like your cunning (?) personality. And btw, thanks for scanning them even uploading it in a very unpredictable section (for me that is, since I don’t understand Spanish lol). Anyway, thanks a bunch XD

    [Cmnt]

…I have to wonder as to why the Japanese fandom seems to portray Hanbei as one kind-hearted, good housewife to Hideyoshi (and love child Mitsunari!). I… suppose it’s because of his looks, and his attitude towards Hideyoshi. I’ve been told Hanbei has been way more villainize in the anime series, though. I don’t usually throw a huge fuss because of OOC representations, but I do wonder why two of my favorites are usually portrayed that way by the Japanese fandom, one being Hanbei, the other being Yoshitsugu (ew, in just too many Mitsunari/Yoshitsugu fanarts and webcmics I’ve see, the latter is shown as sweetened, weak and in need of being protected, that my threatened to rot and fall off.) All the more because I happen to love those characters because of their debatable morals (and ass-kicking, fun gameplay, too), and the fact that you can’t place them as your typical villains because of a couple of reasons.

…Hmm, it seems that I tend to like not-that-popular characters in the English fandom? I just hope for Hisahide to make another appearance in the series before, let’s say, Super Sengoku BASARA VII Turbo Dash Extra Zero Vers. 3.III is released. Speaking of him, I think the one achievement I missed back in SB2Heroes was finishing the hostage stage with the bonus (get the hostages, protect the border and defeat him in Extreme Mode). That stage was truly chaotic… and even if it sounds weird, I liked Hisahide’s moveset and skills, and even the maddening slow pace he walked in (stylishly arrogant, yep)… even if he happened to be kicking my sorry ass at that moment.

:) Thanks, but I don’t think I can be called that: I’m way too slow to catch up on things to be any cunning. Once a month more or less, I make a post in my blog with the doujinshi I uploaded in the past weeks, and since I was including both DSW issues on that update, why not adding up the prequel as well? Sort of a bonus for my loyal readers. Well, not really, since I don’t know whether I have “loyal readers”. Eight out of ten people who drop by my blog are net surfers who where redirected from searches on Senbasa goodies; the other day, my sister was laughing because she wanted to know how the fandom shortened the “name” of the Motochika/Motonari pairing, and when she googled it… the search showed my blog.

    [Cmnt]

  13. You will make me the happiest person on earth if i see more Mitsunari x Ieyasu ;A;

    [Cmnt]

  14. by the kiss that moves from the soul and Sekigahara Anthology Kikaku – Kizuna

    thank you

    [Cmnt]

  15. I am most definently anticipating those Motochika Chousokabe x Motonari Mouri doujin scans, I’ll be checking here often hoping to find them.

    [Cmnt]

  16. Could you possibly scan “Hikari no Soko” by Mongo? I’m a huge Chousokabe Motochika fan and I’ve been dying to see this specific doujinshi for awhile now, since it’s centered around him.

    [Cmnt]

No prob; I’ll be uploading that DJ in a couple of updates (so it’s due in two weeks time, more or less). Hmm, I should have added Hikari no Soko is Motochika-centric with Mitsunari as guest star. It’s a really nice story dealing with what it could have been if we were to follow Chika’s Red Route in the game.

    [Cmnt]

  17. “Higashi ni Shizumu Taiyou to Utsutsu o Terasu Tsuki” please~

    [Cmnt]

  18. Hello! It’s my first time here and I’m so impressed by your collection!!!
Thank you so much for sharing Mungo’s doujinshis!! i’ve been looking everywhere for them :)
one last little question, I wonder if you also have Mungo’s work called “SALT”?

    [Cmnt]

You’re welcome! Choutano C-E-Z’s works are among my favorite. I think that much is obvious enough :)
I bought Salt a couple of weeks ago and I’m currently waiting for it to arrive. Mail has been delayed because of a national postal strike, so I’m hoping my latest DJ order (which is actually comprised of Salt only, really) will arrive soon.

    [Cmnt]

That’s great! You’re so lucky to get hold of Salt, I heard mongo’s books are getting much rarer as she’s turning more to original BL mangas…I’ll be looking forward to your scans!! :) Thank you so much again~~

    [Cmnt]

No prob :) All the mail has been awfully delayed… but I’ll be scanning Salt as it arrives, then.
I’m not really into original BL manga (I prefer doujinshi), but I’ll certainly be interested in reading any of Mongo’s works. I think they publish under the name “Moto Haruko”? Mandarake, the store I buy my doujinshi from, stocks more Mongo’s DJs in a regular basis but, yes, now that I think of it, Choutano C-E-Z doesn’t seem to be publishing as many DJs as it used to (most of the titles Mandarake stocks are old DJs). Guess I’d better try and buy all the available Choutano C-E-Z’s DJs I want from Mandarake before they’re gone forever…

    Again, thanks for your comment!

    [Cmnt]

  19. “per-so-na 123″ please!!!

    [Cmnt]

Sorry, but I don’t currently have that DJ in queue for scanning. Actually, it’s in my Not-In-Queue-For-Scanning List, sort of. It’s a small volume (the size of a normal manga), and the binding makes it very hard to scan it unless the pages are pulled off. I could try to scan it without cutting off the binding or pulling off the pages, but then the scans wouldn’t be of any good quality (and it’s more than likely the doujinshi will be damaged, too). That’s why I’m not considering to scan it for the time being.

    [Cmnt]

  20. Here I am again! I wanted to give my thanks to ya’ for scannin’ Hikari no Soko and also mention Salt by Mongo! But as I can see from a previous comment, you’re already planning to scan it? If so, I’m definitely lookin’ forward to seeing it!

    [Cmnt]

You’re welcome! But, er, really? Did I say something about some salt? Like, in a recipe? (Now I’m sort of expecting Choutano C-E-Z to release a DJ titled “Butter” or something like that). Sorry for the lame joke; because of the delay with my mail and my schedule, I’d totally forgotten Salt had already been requested. I’ll be scanning it next :)

    [Cmnt]

  21. I wish i could review “Salt,ckin Chemistry” please

    [Cmnt]

  22. hi, it’s very lucky to me that i found this place. where you make a enormous pleasure for the people who like sengoku basara. i can’t speak english or spanish fluently, but i wanna you to know how i appreciate to you again, and again and again~ :D it’s very take time and boring that scan the book and upload files, doesn’t? so thanks for your hardship!

so, if you think that would be doesn’t rude or nonsense, i wish you to scan “koyubi no aji” by tanso.(<-is that 'carbon' in jappanese?) and "nishi no yamai" by yoha. + "beautiful world" by NANA. (that books name was write in katakana.) in fact i have a more wanna-read list(?)… but for now, that three books was my best wish list. yeah, i think i will request you to more scan in few month, and maybe that would be makes you annoy, how greedy and shameless i am :$……

if you kindly take my request and scan that books, i will send you to more and more greatest gratitude i can. thank you for read this comment, and have a good day ^^!

    [Cmnt]

Hello, and sorry for the very belated reply! Well, yes, I must admit it’s sort of tiresome and boring to scan and then edit doujinshi -and that’s why I usually take that long between updates in my page-, but it’s worth the work when you feel you can contribute with the fandom (and receive nice comments, too. Thanks!)

In general terms, I don’t take requests for DJs I don’t have, sorry. In fact, I once got very angry with a person who used to visit my page and asked me to buy a doujinshi for them… I couldn’t help but feel this person thought I was there just to please them and comply with their every wish.
That said, and on the other hand, I don’t mind suggestions :) You’ll see, buying DJs isn’t that cheap (and then you have to add shipping fees, woes!), so I can’t really buy everything I’d like or that people suggest me to get. Let’s say I have to be real picky about what I get, otherwise I’ll be out of funds all the time. Anyway, I’ll note down the titles you mention; I think I’ve seen some DJs by yoha and definitely most by NANA at Mandarake, but I’m afraid I wouldn’t know about tanso.

    [Cmnt]

  23. Ooh! You managed to get ahold of ‘One Day’ by Tsunako!!❤
I’ve been trying to find that doujin for a long time–I think I’ll request that one!
Thank you so much for doing such an awesome job, Scyllua!
(Aaah, we both caught the T&B disease…it’s so addictive… OTL )
    Have an awesome day!

    [Cmnt]

    Sorry for the late reply!
One Day will be the next update, then (I just uploaded Salt; I’d forgotten it was requested quite some time ago). It seems I was just lucky and came across the DJ during a little shopping spree at Mandarake…

And who isn’t T&B nowadays? :) Can’t help it; I’ve always liked comics and T&B is a nice mix between your typical comics story and anime.
    Bye!

    [Cmnt]

    Thank you so much, Scyllua!
I’ll patiently await for it ❤
Oh! While I’m at it, do you happen to have a Tumblr? And if you do, have you seen the askmitsunari blog? * 7 *

    [Cmnt]

Thanks for being this patient! I have some days off now (because of our national independence day holidays), so I’ll try to update sometime soon. I mean, “soon” like in, the next few days, not my usual “soon”, which might range from two weeks to half a year.

I think I’m the only one among my friends/acquaintances/relatives who use internet who doesn’t, in fact, have a Twitter or a Tumblr account yet… But, yeah, I’ve been to the askmitsunari blog :) My sister showed it to me (she knows I’m a hopeless Mitsunari fangirl), as well as the askmotochika and askmotonari blogs… And they’re hilarious! We also find the askieyasu blog, but we didn’t stop by… in my case, I was sort of dreading the page could be based on Ieyasu’s portrayal as seen in Sengoku Basara Samurai Heroes and, well, there isn’t anything that infuriates me, Senbasa-related, as that horrible version of SB3 and what it did to the characters and the plotline… I still can’t believe what they did to Ieyasu (no wonder I’ve been told he’s unanimously hated by the overseas fanbase), and Yoshitsugu to a lesser but almost equally infuriating extent. But, uh, I guess I should at least take a look at the askieyasu blog? To see what it’s like? After all, the keeper of such blogs manage to get the other characters soooooooo IC, it’s frightening…

    [Cmnt]

Oh, they’re all quite well done…
…It’s a bit pressure-ful for me…considering I’m the one behind the askmitchon blog. It’s so hard for me because not only do I have to juggle that blog with commissions and my job but it’s hard being so mean to others!

Aaah, I understand what you mean! But most of the people who are behind these askblogs are quite level with the character they’re portraying.
I don’t think I seem to have that much problems with any of them…except for when they’re implying ONE sort of pairing when other pairings to exist.
Maa, maa. I hope to receive a question from you, Scyllua! I’ll try my best with it~
    Have an awesome time~

    [Cmnt]

Sorry for the late reply! So, not only are my excuses lame, but also repetitive as for lately… It’s taken me so long to get back to you, I remembered you’d written a comment, but I couldn’t find where in my blog. I had to look it up in WordPress’ comments list… Ah, I’m a big fail as a website keeper…

Hey, congrats! The askmitsunari blog is just so… IC for him and hilarious. I had no idea you were in charge of Mitsu’s blog, but now that I come to think of it… it was your drawing style all around. Did I say I was a big fail? OTL The little illustration of Mitsu used as avatar has to be a personal favorite; I mean, I’m just one of those people who can’t get over Mitsunari’s melting mascar… blood tears. Thank you very much for making me giggle like the fangirl I’m at heart with some of Mitsu’s answers :)

It seems that all the questions I had for him had already been pointed out in the blog, from Mitsu’s mascar… blood tears to the Ieyasu voodoo doll we all know he has. Unless… unless nobody has asked about his hairstyle yet (I think it unlikely, though). I always wanted to know how long it took him to have his hair done every morning because, hey! The very first thing I noticed when the announcement for SB3 was out and character designs were up in the official website, was his hairstyle. And I know a lot of people noticed it, too! It’s so amazing, the Japanese Wiki article about SB has a very specific mention of his hair in his entry, hah hah. I don’t have a Tumblr account, but I was thinking of using my sister’s account to drop by and leave a message :)

Going through the blog once again, I couldn’t help notice the usual lot of haters, trolls and people with, err, particular fandom tastes that seemed to lurk on it. Sort of interesting for me, in spite of everything; I don’t participate in the Senbasa fandom in English or Spanish (which is my mother tongue), but I believe Mitsunari isn’t a very popular character among fans over here. At the very least, he isn’t nearly as popular as he is in Japan. I think it has to do with his portrayal, for his Senbasa depiction is practically the total opposite of most fans were expecting for the famously cunning Ishida Mitsunari. The way he’s vilified in SB:SH doesn’t help, either. Oh, and by the way… Sorry for the totally unasked for rant about SB:SH. Couldn’t help myself. If you want to hear me rant nonstop and curse CAPCOM like there’s no tomorrow, then tell me about SB:SH. I hate that game. Really I do.

Psst, psst… Yoshi/Mitsu (or the other way round) is my SB3 OTP, but after re-reading the askmitsu blog, I find the idea of people asking for sexual intercourse with a leper sort of… disturbing. And you’re reading a person who spent four hours last Friday looking for and downloading images and webcomics with the tags “yoshimitsu” and “R-18″ in Pixiv. I think it’s the way people are asking for it, what has freaked me out a little bit. Just a bit.

    [Cmnt]

    Sorry for MY late response, Scyulla! Aaaaah, I’m so glad you think so…;;

I haven’t been on it for a while due to my strenuous experience as a first year in university…!
    I’ll have to make it up to the people who are nice enough to follow me when I can…;

Yes, there have been countless questions about his hair (a-and…whipping it…back and forth…*sob*) Not that I can entirely blame them…his “egg-shaped” head and overly dramatic hairdo had to raise eyebrows.

As you have stated, he’s not particularly welcome to most people here, but to those few people I have met that actually like him–they’re usually obsessed with him. (Hahaha, I’m a girl like that!)
Oh dear. I won’t bring that game up around you then. Ever.

Unless you have to like, rant or something… xDD
Yessss that is very disturbing. VERY VERY DISTURBING. When I get to a certain question about something a very morbid anon asked, I will let you know. Some people and their..sick…needs….
    Just a bit.

Oh my gosh, you have OtanixMitsun (or the other way around…) doujins! And two of them!
    * q * Whenever you can, maybe could you do those, Scyulla? Pretty please? Maid and Kubireru Oni, please!

Anyhow, I hope you have an awesome time, Scyulla! I hope to hear from you soon! Cheers!

    [Cmnt]

Don’t worry! After all, I know that real life… just happens. Besides, I’m so slow updating this site and getting back to people, that I daresay you haven’t missed much here.
I hope you’re doing well at university! I can imagine just how busy and stressful university can be. And you’re being told that by a person who dropped out of university to pursue another career. With a personal record of failed subjects that was almost legendary among professors and students alike.

Obsessed Mitsunari fans? Yeah? You mean, like us? *AHEM* Actually, I didn’t think of myself as such, until another Senbasa fan told me she had never met such a person so obsessed with our white-haired, slightly angsty man. Anyway, it’s so reassuring to know that, in spite of his relative unpopularity over here, he still gets lots of love from, er, devoted fans. Yep. Fans.

I feel like one to talk now. I mean, I wrote about people with disturbing comments about Yoshitsugu and Mitsunari… and then I went and bought this DJ with Mitsu on a maid outfit. Couldn’t. Help. Myself. On. That. One. And the last page of said DJ has Mitsu on a nurse outfit, may I add (it all boils down to Yoshitsugu’s tastes and some bets/challenges Mitsu keeps on losing). Those are YoshiMitsu DJs, a pairing that’s somewhat hard to come across in the Japanese fandom because the other way round seems to be way more popular… Adding them to the in-queue list for editing, so wait for them! (Psst, psst… Mostly unrelated, but I should note that I’m so slow on the uptake, that I didn’t catch the joke behind the pronunciation of Maid in the similarly titled DJ, nor I understood why Mitsunari was called “Mitsun” by fans, until my brother explained it to me. Uh-huh. Uh.)

It seems like I’ll have to come up with more original questions about Mitsu (or to ask Mitsu), even though it doesn’t look like I can get over his hairstyle :) Now that you’ve mentioned his egg-shaped head (yeah, everything about him just has to be that particular) raising eyebrows, I’ve thought of… his eyebrows. Which have to be the angrier-looking eyebrows I’ve seen in quite some time. I was thinking that maybe he trims them…?

Thanks for dropping by and leaving a message!

    [Cmnt]

Life doesn’t just happen, it smacks me in the face. Yeah, considering yesterday was my last day of being 17, I can finally fit in with other students without them having to call me a newbie baby in university. B/

Oh my. Well, I’d say you really make up for telltale failure with a kind personality. Cheers to that. <3

YES LIKE US WHO ENJOY INCREDIBLY ANGRY AND AND VENGEFUL WHITE HAIRED WHINERS.

Ohhh dear. After seeing that in the queue list, I literally said out loud "She WOULD have that one…" I can't wait to see it. Haha…Mitsun….pffff….

I think he does sort of keep himself well kept, when it comes down to your question about his hair and eyebrows. He seems the type to take after his superiors and seeing that Hanbei happens to be one of great significance he must have adopted some of his beauty traits. They really do compliment him, I've gotta admit.

And those gorgeous hazel eyes he's got. <3
Thanks for the reply! I hope to hear from you soon!
    Have a good one! <3

    [Cmnt]

Happy (and very) belated birthday! I hope you’re enjoying every minute of your life as a legal adult (though, to be honest, I never saw that much of an actual difference), and especially of your non-newbie university life :P

Sorry for the late reply! Something happened last week and that changed my life. That’s to say, Persona 2: Innocent Sin was officially released in English and, as it tends to happens with every new (or not) Persona game released, my existence found itself divided into RL (attending classes, working, housekeeping) and gaming. Curiously enough, this doesn’t happen to me when a Senbasa game is released, or at least it doesn’t happen to me that hard…

Ha, ha, you know, rather than a whiner, I tend to think of Mitsu as a very angry drama queen (guess that’s not a good combination, either). He’s just so unconsciously (subconsciously?) histrionic, I sort of pity Tomokazu Seki for each massive bout of yelling he has to perform.
And, uh, maybe you can call this a small and belated birthday present? I updated the Senbasa scans page, and since I was at that and the DJ was rather short, I also edited Maid, but I won’t put it up in said page for a few more weeks. You can see here, though. I still can’t get over that DJ…

I love Mitsu’s eyes, too, oh yes I do. Many times I’ve come across fanarts of white haired, kitsune-like bishies (how old is he, anyway?) in Pixiv, and I could tell it was Mitsunari just by checking his eyes’ color. That’s because you have to see how long it takes me to recognize Masamune or Yukimura in some fanarts! Speaking of Hanbei, I sort of entertain to think that, for the rest of the Senbasa cast, he was the intelligence/wisdom standard: many of the other characters aren’t exactly bright, or known for their amazing intellect skills. But Hanbei? Mention him and you have even You’re-such-an-insignificant-and-lowly-lifeform-in-comparison-to-me Motonari worried. And Hanbei admired for his beauty? I can totally think so, too! Based on the game canon only, we don’t really have any clue nor proof to it, but I’ve always imagined Mitsu as a man of neat, organized ways, having learned those from Hanbei.

Oh, and just as Hanbei must have spent quite some time every morning donning his mask for no known reason other than to look impossibly cool, I can also picture Mitsunari doing his hair -and his eyebrows- just as the sun rises. If you’re going to war to kill your former ally -and possibly the person who was the closest to be considered a “best friend”-, God forbids if you aren’t properly dressed, armed, and trimmed for the occasion.

Thanks for your comment, as always!

    [Cmnt]

Sorry I had to find this so late, I’ve been so busy with university life! Wow! Thank you ever so much for such an amazing birthday present, Scyllua!(Otani…w-why would you even…w-why…o-oh my god…Motochika…w-where did you even…?)
    It really made my day!

Oooh, I have heard of that game (haven’t seen any of the footage lately,) and that the P4 anime had been released a while back. I was a little taken aback at how nice it was, but I wasn’t as hooked to it as I was with Tiger and Bunny (I am so shameless, -sobs-)

Considering his past roles, I wouldn’t be surprised if Tomokazu-dono was not only used to it but enjoys his career (who wouldn’t, I mean…screaming and bitching for a living? Awesome.)
And yes, I’ll admit. Being a hypocrite always leads to accusing others of being one too. Mitsunari is so guilty of that that it hurts. D|

Yessss, those hazel eyes are absolutely stunning. For the question about age, there was supposedly (and historically, lets not abandon that too much like CAPCOM has done..; ) an incredibly large age gap between Mitsunari and Ieyasu. Judging his sudden appearance…18…20+? I would have to assume that something of an age-range like that would sort of explain why he’s so hotheaded and irresponsible.

Following up with that theory, maybe that’s why he’s so enamored of Hideyoshi and Hanbei. Being someone who even proclaims he’s so inexperienced compared to his superiors, I’ll bet he tries to conform to their habits too. Most likely he was going for Hanbei’s godlike claims for elegance and organized exterior to Hideyoshi’s power to control and create fear. That’s my silly theory anyhow. it’s always fun to imagine things like that haha, especially when there’s someone to listen to them <3

And you are so right. It's just as that one line from that AFI song I had heard:
"Oh, even if we're discovered, just be sure to wear your best. We will surely make the covers." If you're going to do something that will obviously gain notoriety, might as well look godly.

    Though, I have a strong suspicion that Mitsunari probably didn't care sometimes that he'd walk into public with blood smeared everywhere and still wouldn't give a damn…h-how sad..;

    [Cmnt]

Don’t worry! As you can see, I’m replying this late (not that I’m particularly of that), and I apologize for that. Of course that I understand university happens :) It’s true I dropped out of my former career, but for the time being I’m a trainee teacher following a course – and within a week, I had the final oral exam, the final written exam and the final presentation for the same course (up until now I hadn’t noticed you could have so many final exams for one single course) and I had to begin an online course for… the very same course. For a few days, it did feel like the world was ending for me… So I think I can say I empathize? Even if I’m sure my trainee course isn’t half as hard as university.

I’m glad you liked the DJ :) Those kind of stories are like a fetish for me, what with maid outfits, some crossdressing, hmm… And I’m sure all of that was information you didn’t want to read, so… sorry.

Well, the Persona franchise seems to be everywhere as for lately, doesn’t it? That said, I haven’t been able to play Persona 2: Innocent Sin in over a month, but I’m in not hurry. If fans waited 12 years for the game to be released in English, I’m pretty sure I can wait another month. Oh, and the P4 anime is certainly interesting: it looks and feels exactly as the game, with sequences taken from it and everything. Why, when the characters use their powers you could swear they’re accessing the menu and selecting skills. It looks promising, so I’m looking forward to how the anime adaptation fares. That said, I haven’t finished watching Tiger & Bunny yet (I got stuck at ep. 17), however, I do think the series ends with a hint of some sort of sequel. Being Sunrise, I wouldn’t be surprised. In fact, I’m sort of expecting a movie or an OVA series of T&B sometime soon, but I think no official announcement has been made yet.

You know, I used to make fun of Tomokazu Seki’s shouting, er, “skills”. The first big role I knew him for was Kamui in X The Movie, in which, I have to say it, he couldn’t get a shout right. The movie was overall dramatic, but every time Kamui had to shout (and he shouted a lot), it sounded so… off… you felt like laughing. Actually, I watched the movie in a theater and the audience did laugh. So I hope you can imagine I was very (nicely) surprised when I heard Mitsunari in SB3 – my first thought was, indeed, “whoa! Seki learned how to shout and yell! Twenty years don’t pass in vain.”

On the matter of eyes, it surprised me that CAPCOM changed Masamune’s eye color in SB3 and the anime. I actually like him blue-eyed more, but it made me wonder if they’d ever change Mitsunari’s trademark green eyes, too. I’ve grown so accustomed to them, were CAPCOM to change their color, Mitsunari would look so alien to me as Yukimura without his ponytail or his bandanna :) And just as you, I also assume Mitsu to be around 19-20 years old, even if he looks somewhat older than that to me. I read CAPCOM’s staff mentioned in one of the CD specials that adult!Ieyasu was supposed to be 19, just as Masamune (or at the very least, Masa at the beginning of the whole saga); I haven’t been able to confirm this myself, but since it’s written on the Japanese Wiki article of Senbasa and Japanese fans tend to be more reliable :), I’m taking it as true. It’d make sense to me, the four poster boys of the saga being more or less the same age – and definetely NOT acting their age, hah hah. Masamune and Yukimura have matured quite a lot in the latest games/the anime series, however.

…I’m afraid Mitsunari is, after all, the type to walk around covered in blood and not caring about it. I got my copies of the second and third volumes of Sengoku BASARA 3 Roar of Dragon a few weeks ago, and that’s exactly what Mitsunari does after beating Masamune: he comes back to the main base smeared in blood, shocking his soldiers, and looking strangely satisfied. Truth be told, I don’t find this as a shocker to me, since it’s implied he does it quite a lot in the game (remember Yoshitsugu telling him to wipe the blood off him? Of course, in the game you never see any actual blood, but taking into consideration Mitsunari’s demeanor in the battlefield, it’s probably better that way). Instead of seeing this as Mitsunari’s disregard for his person, I rather see it as Mitsu’s disregard for personal appearances and other things he might see as superfluous and frivolous. He does pay attention to his appearance, as any proud samurai would, but he also sees the practical, true aspect of what he’s wearing and using, i.e. he won’t fuss if he gets blood on his armor because, after all, that’s what a sword and a piece of armor are for. Or at least that’s how I see him :) but given the very little -next to nonexistent- information we have on him, I’m afraid all of my assumptions are just that, assumptions based on interpretations that might totally wrong. Even the Roar of Dragon manga doesn’t delve in Mitsunari’s background beyond what we’ve already seen in the game – but in the upside, at least it does give us more insight into Mitsu and Masamune’s interaction/rivalry. Actually, after reading the manga I feel like shipping the two of them together, MasaMitsu being a couple I was never interested before :) The manga goes beyond the “I’m going to avenge my master / I want to get back my pride” premise of the game; in particular, Masa doesn’t appear as much interested in recovering from his previous defeat at Mitsunari’s hand, but rather is pained because he couldn’t protect his men, and even empathizes with Mitsu. Hmmm.

Speaking of the manga, too, I suppose it’s noteworthy to mention it gives the time span for the WHOLE events of SB3 (Hideyoshi taking over Japan, Hanbei’s death, Ieyasu’s betrayal, Shingen falling ill and Yukimura becoming the commander of the Takeda, Masamune’s second encounter with Mitsunari) as happening in a few days. Moreover, Hanbei’s death and Ieyasu’s betrayal happen the very same day, which is also the day Mitsu trusts Ieyasu he lives for Hideyoshi’s sake (as seen, or rather heard, in Yasu’s Red Route ending). No wonder Mitsunari’s utter sense of despair!
I must say I was looking forward to learning about Mitsunari’s background in this manga. As many others, I’m also mystified as exactly what makes Mitsunari be so devoted to Hideyoshi… The anime, unfortunately, turns Hideyoshi into a power-hungry man with no more shades to his character, whereas in SB2 and SB2Heroes we get to learn more about him. I’ve always seen him as a sympathetic man (hey, he was short of a hooligan in his happier days with Keiji!) who earned the trust and love of those around him… until the moment he decided to seize his dream of a unified Japan. Even if Mitsunari met him after Hideyoshi had undergone this change, I still can see the latter as retaining the kind, amiable character he was shown to have – otherwise, I wouldn’t understand why Hanbei is still so
loyal to him! Or Keiji, for that reason. In any case, I haven’t given this that much thought (why Mitsunari is so devoted to Hideyoshi), but your theory does sound plausible to me :) In fact, if I were asked to come up with my own theory of Mitsunari’s past, I’d weave a story revolving a difficult, hard (and most likely, tragic) childhood, despairing years as he grew up into adulthood, a sense of unworthiness for not having a place to belong to, and then taking Hideyoshi and Hanbei as models to follow and, more importantly, reasons to live for.

I don’t like soup-operas, but I’ll admit to being a fan of dramatic plotlines, ahem.

Sorry for the loooooooong comment, and for the delay in getting back to you! And as usual, thanks for your comment, too! I always get wordy, or wordier, whenever I can have some Mitsunari-related talk with a fellow Senbasa fan. Not to mention I enjoy your message a lot. Bye!

P.S. Feel free to begin another comment thread anytime :) After a few messages, threaded comments at WordPress become hard to read, and I guess it doesn’t help that I write such LOOOOOONG messages, too.

  24. i would like to have “chillax!”, “tendou sensei” and “kinbotan ni kotohogu”. thanks in advance.

  25. I couldn’t help but notice that you’ve returned from your absence, so first and foremost, welcome back! Hope your hiatus was worthwhile. Secondly, I also realized that you updated your queue list, which a few of ‘em caught me by surprise. I was hoping you’d scan “Ai ni Tsuite” and “Ujou Soan” by Mongo. They’re sort of the missing pieces to my own collection. If you ever get around to it, thanks in advance!

    [Cmnt]

Hey, thanks for the welcoming! And sorry all the same for going MIA without putting up so much as a notice in these pages. I’ve been busy for the past month and it doesn’t seem as this month will be much different (exams… work… HOLIDAYS, which, in spite of what one might think, are pretty busy too) – but, hey! Even if it takes me a year… or maybe two… or who knows, even longer… I eventually get around to scan the DJs in this list. It’s just that I’m not particular timely with updates, that’s all, ahem. So it’s a given I’ll be scanning Ai ni Tsuite at the very least in hopefully a not so distant future; it’s a real fun DJs, the kind that focus the ChikaNari relationship in a way I actually like. That’s to say, with the two of them not knowing whether to murder each other, or turn the DJs into a more NC17-rated story. But to tell you the truth, I’d rather have Chika and Nari attempt the first.

  26. I want “Ai ni Tsuite”, “Tsurarete Nemukunaru Maeni” and “Ujou Soan”. Thanks

    [Cmnt]

  27. Hello, it’s me again~ I love your new layout~
I see that you’ve got 3 of the Doujinshis which I’ve searched everywhere and cannot find all here!! If possible, I’d like to request Ai ni Tsuite,Tsurarete Nemukunaru Maeni and Ujou Soan. I see lots of your visitors here are also Mongo fans~~ and I’m sure they are as grateful as I’m to you for all your generous shares! Thanks in advance!!

    [Cmnt]

Hey, hello there ;) I’m glad you like my new layout! I’m currently watching Persona 4 The Animation and I got into a Shigenori Soejima (the main character designer) mood and I like how my blog came out – but still, the layout seems to die on me on the Senbasa scans page (the background image is broken at some point in the comments section), *sighs*

What? Mongo fans? IN THIS PAGE? Do you really think so? Ah well, only because my sister (who isn’t really into Senbasa, but likes Motochika nonetheless) always asks me whether I’m getting another Mongo DJ everytime I placed an order, I’d say I also have some Choutano C-E-Z fans at home. Anyway, I’ve updated with Ai ni Tsuite; I guess Ujou Sou’an (I hope my kanji reading isn’t that lame or wrong on this DJ) will be next.

    Bye, and take care!

    [Cmnt]

  28. If you have some time, would you mind scanning Musou Sairoku and Tobu Yume o Shibaraku Minai next?

Anyway, thanks for all your hard work!
Today is actually the first day I’ve ever seen any Sengoku Musou doujis o.O

I also wouldn’t mind seeing Maid by Judo Chop…… simply because the idea of seeing Mitsunari in a dress……. is too hilarious. *Mitsu love*

Any your last comment just piqued my interest, I’m gonna watch Persona 4 The Animation now^^

    [Cmnt]

Hey, hello there :) And thanks for your comment!
Uh~~~~ yes. Musou Sairoku and Tobu Yume o Shibaraku Minai are two DJs I’ve had in my “Upcoming List” for -literally- YEARS now, so it’s time I get around to scan/edit them. I’m a tad busy at the moment, but I’ll try to catch up with my schedule on scanning (which is already late by… er, several years I suppose. At least with everything that’s not Senbasa-related). But I’m afraid scanning and editing them might take me some extra time, for both DJs are over 200+ pages long. Musou Sairoku alone is almost 250 pages long (it’s a compilation of the Musou DJs the circle MICROMACRO published, whereas Tobu Yume… is a collaboration story between MICROMACRO and GD, the cirlce of Izumo Yakumo/Yaku Haibara).

…Psst, psst… I haven’t added it to my scans page yet, but I do have Maid already scanned and edited. It’s a very short story, but it still amuses me greatly. You can download it here. And, yes, Mitsunari needs more love!

I highly recommend Persona 4 The Animation! This is one of my all-time favorite RPGs, and I’m so thrilled the anime series is a very faithful adaptation. Why, the anime series even copies some screens (such as the “menu option” to change Personas and use special skills) from the game! P4 is considered to be one of the best RPGs of the last decade and the tv series is making a pretty good job of adapting the plot to animated format, so I can reassure you, you won’t be disappointed by it.

    [Cmnt]

    200 pages? that’s indeed a lot xD
And about the douji, arigatou gozaimashita! (sorry, I haven’t installed my Japanese keyboard function xD)

I looooove Persona 4 and I love the anime, can’t wait for Episode 16 tomorrow^^
Although episode 13 and 14 were the most boring for me until now…
But now Naoto is there! I love Naoto^^
Though her Persone seemed kinda useless with his skills…

    [Cmnt]

  29. I would like to have “Benkyou Busoku de Gozatta!”

    [Cmnt]

  30. Great, thanks for sharing this article. Want more.
